Given there is a lack of open training sessions these days, consider Friday night to be an open training session, which those who can't get to Etihad Stadium can watch on TV (if you have Foxtel). Should be lots of training reports on Friday night & Saturday morning.Whilst I'm looking forward to being able to watch some footy, I can't help but feel this is a glorified training drill

You could be right. I only watch 7mate for Pawn Stars & Outback Truckers.I think its on 7two or 7mate
Will do. Might have to check around the edges of the crowd though, unlikely to find him in the congestionKeep an eye out for Blaine Boekhorst.
That's pretty much where he was when I saw him at Meredith last year, up on the hill out the back of the amphitheatre away from the bulk of the crowd...Will do. Might have to check around the edges of the crowd though, unlikely to find him in the congestion
Sorry, I was waiting for the punchline.Really looking forward to AFLX.
Will showcase all the skills of AFL footy minus congestion. Brings all the lighter more skilled exciting players together. Initially younger players for sure but if a success and right prize, can see it including bigger names.
This sport is the best spectacle in the world except if it gets bogged down in stoppages.
Hopefully and eventually will provide the AFL head office with all the data they need to guide the full format series in terms of a great spectacle. Fast, furious but free wheeling 1 on 1 footy.
There is a risk 1-on-1s don't develop in AFLX as it might go down the keepy off route but hoping that is not the case.
Surely if the AFL want this to work, they should have played melbourne games at AAMI Park and other states on soccer/NRL grounds. Watching NRL on AFL grounds is terrible, you feel so far away from the action.
Again the AFL half assing it (I hope it fails anyway - its just one major knee injury away from clubs pulling the pin. I also don't care if people overseas play our great game, let alone this abortion)
It was Vince macmahon of WWE wrestling fame who created XFL (and recreating in a couple of years) not the NFL.NFL tried something called the XFL in 2001(2?). It lasted one season and had some silly rules. Don’t think it was at all successful but I do seem to recall a player or two revived their careers through it. Anyway. It seems to have been brought back. All codes are looking for that smash grab hype short form to gain extra revenue and interest.
Ah yes. Not sure on the specifics. Interesting either way. Would the Afl ever let an outside party use their brand like the NFL seems to have allowed? It was Vince macmahon of WWE wrestling fame who created XFL (and recreating in a couple of years) not the NFL.
You could be right. I only watch 7mate for pr0n Stars & Outback Truckers.
