AFL to revert to late 90s and early 00s rules would be nice. None of this watered down less physical version of the game we have now. They have all but killed the bump, now the tackle also has to be gentle.

If they are that concerned with cte which very few afl players have proven to have then they need to introduce a waiver or people dont play. Im not talking about deliberate high hits here but incidental high contact due to a perfectly legitimate bump or shirt front.
Doc Tackle rule also gone too far.
personally id take anything pre-2008 - that's the year they began changing rules due to one incident / one game and being far too reactionary.

but for spectacle, gimme early 90's anytime.

Kayo has a bunch of early 90s games (and a whole bunch of other eras), and they’ve been a really fun way to pass the time. Such a good blend of skill and physicality

60 minutes is being generous, given they stand around running down the clock for most of it.
In defense of gridiron, the NFL is the over-commercialized shell of a great game. You have to watch high school to see it at its purest. You have to think up your play on offense, and the defense is thinking up theirs. Part of the excitement for me as a fan is anticipating what's coming next; what the next play's implications are on the game, etc.

The television ad breaks at the higher levels absolutely kill the game though. In high school you have 25 seconds to start the next play after the last, which really keeps it moving. Gridiron can be stop start, but so can AFL with marks and endless ball-up/boundary throw-ins...
