I notice that some people are mentioning a desire by Bond to distribute players evenly with regards to age. In this case I have decided to look at who belongs in which age group as per the 2014 season.
19-21
Simpson, Smith, Moller
Sheridan, Crozier, Duffy, Neale, Taberner
Michie, Mellington, Sutcliffe, Menagola
22-23 (nobody 24)
Morabito, Fyfe, Walters, Hannath
Suban, deBoer, Clarke, Hill, C Pearce
25 - 27
Ibbotson, Mayne
Ballentyne, Barlow, Spurr, Silvagni
Dawson, Griffan, Mzungu, D Pearce
28-29
Mundy, Bradley, Duffield, Sylvia
Crowley, Johnson
Older states men 30+
Sandilands
McPharlin, Pavlich
Rookie
FA
What this highlights is that in the next 3 years we are going to start to loose lots of our real talent. Aside from the usual suspects Pav, McPharlin and Sandi the group behind in Mundy, Duffield, Crowley and Johnson is also a concern from a recruitment and replacement pot of view. I guess I can see where bond's concern may be coming from.
To my mind this only makes the Sylvia FA less attractive.
