peninsula are not heavily loaded with TAC cup players. they only have four and only have two that have ever played a game. so i think you have your info wrong. they played a very good game today and although they couldnt keep it up for the entire match, they showed assumption in the first 3 quarters that they are a very good team but full credit to assumption in the last quater were too good.

I also believe that mentone have only a handful of tac players who play. can anyone inform me in relation to if i am correct?
From looking at the agsv website i believe that mentone only lost of assumption by about 3-4 goals ansd are sitting 2-2 having played harder opponents in pegs and ack. also looking to be a good side is trinity. both these schools have been middle or the range in relation to the ladder. are these schools the drak horses this year??

watch out for shuey next match , he is now fully recovered from his ruptured achillies but still managed 34 and a goal touches for marcellin on friday from only 62% game time. next match he will probably kick 5 goals from 40ish touches against mentone.

also watch out for a new player nick lynch. Labelled as the 'human cheetah' his pace and sideways movement ability is second to none. Lynch has been known to towel up such names as maric (pegs), sheehan (assumption) and to a certain extent, cyril rioli in the ags vs aps match two years ago. Lynch could well put the goalsquare at the lyons oval end on the map this Friday when his overdue comeback to footy after severe alcohol poisoning is here. Standing at 181 cm and 134 kg, the big rig could well have a poor mentonian eating out of a tube for the next few years. Vear and lynch from the goalsquare, a combination every afl recuiter will be druelling over..

just back on that scolarship argument between the lads down at assumption and that character from ivanhoe, a mate of mine attends marcellin college in year 11, promising player, but thats besides the point. originally he inquired to marcellin about scolarships and what-not. first thing they told him was that as a marist school (along withn assumption) it is against the traditions passed down from marcellin champagnat to give anyone a better chance at a marist school, as the marist brothers main belief reads something like this 'we strive to give every child, no matter who they are, a fair an equal education as every pupil around them' so as long as marcellin and assumption are marist schools, they arent allowed to hand out scolarships of any shape or form. chelswothgale, no matter how smart you make yourself sound you need the facts, and this fact is as plain and simple as it gets. sorry mate.

doesnt ring a bell... at u15's stage cotch was only running around regularly in West Preston colours, DVFL rep side barely played any matches... so the kid would of been playing in the DVFL... any idea on which club?

yeah mcmahon is a marcellin boy but was unlucky this year doing the ACL preseason. would have bben a walkup start in the 1st XVIII and probably fighting shuey for the captaincy. not to be confused with daniel mcmahon, no realation. lachlan "stocko" mcmahon is just a freak and all other ags schools should be thankful that you dont have to play against him this year as he would have deestroyed anyone in his path. has been seen down at chargers they might pick him up as the 19 year old for next year in the hope he gets drafted to afl in 2010 to the gold coast.

shuey who? mitch brown will most likely line up on him, another ags star of this season. talk that mitch is tghe games most sought after young players with several talent scouts after him at mentones match against ivanhoe. mentone vs marcelling looks to be one of the games of the season when marcelin come to the house of pain saturday week.:p..

Where has Mitch Brown come from? He is not on any TAC Cup list. I heard that he has kicked bags against Assumption and Peninsula from CHF and is a potential draft pick with many clubs watching him closely.

hahahaha plz save yourself the embrasement and don't re enter this forum.
As for your home ground.. how mnay games you won there this year, let alone previous years? mentone.. dead set, would be lucky if you had a possesion getter higher than 10.. including the warm ups
mitch brown? even on a tac club list??

Hey Bingo. I saw Mitch Brown first hand and I think he kicked 7 or 8 and must have taken around 20 marks. A real talent. Mentone were better than we thought. Don't take them lightly.

come down to the eagle nest and see what happens
juts liek lats year.. 129 points was it?
even at your so called house of pain, marcellin will run rings

Mate, don't you start putting your 2cents worth into this conversation.
You remind me of one of those failed footballers, the one who spends their lunchtimes in the library playing chess living off the success of others, still with the chip on your shoulder after failing to make the 3rds for Marcellin.

"come down to the eagle nest, see what happens" give it a chop mate you are obviously a failed footballer and you should get back to the books and tighten your suspenders.

stop underestimating bingo

hes a good 3's player and is actually pushing to picked in the 2's next week. if not he will get a run by the end of the year. mind you marcellin 2's are better than most schools 1's

should be a fairly lack lustre weekend of football next weekend with surely some lopsided results on the cards! Trinity should prevail over yarra valley with brown to dominate, he is one to watch in the future, athletic, can take a grab, kick a goal and a good bloke too! with marcellin heading down to the 'house of pain' at mentone, they should dish out a football lesson as mentone rely too heavily on a handful of players while the rest of the team couldn't get a kick in the sherrin factory.. assumption should dismantle ivanhoe with ease with ivanhoe struggling to score with ack's rock solid backline with the likes of hill and vale with holman providing plenty of dash, gestier to kick 10 (liam ryan of ack would be the most arrogant player in the agsv, even though he is the size of a mouse), can't even recall the names of any ivanhoe players who might feature prominently. pegs should handle an improving peninsula side with ease, the likes of pound, trengrove, melksham and hicks to outclass the boys from around the bay despite the best efforts of al goodingham and luke adams. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

hate to say it chelsworth but the person you beleive is Mark Gledhill isn't what you think, it may be mg07 who has been posting on this thread for sometime now and at no point has he mentioned anything about himself.

you = inavhoe = very ordinairy

Havent seen these guys play but news from the inside is that Mitch "Westy" Brown and Mark "Medders" Gledhill have both been contacted by scouts, Brown mainly from West Coast and Sydney for Gledhill. Seems that both of them have AFL careers ahead of them.

Dear my little shoot from the hip without thinking children of the AGSV board,

It has come to my attention that you are beginning to develop a large arrogant streak and are not quite up to speed with the a couple of "Big Footyisms" which I myself were prone to in my infant stages of my "big footy career". You see I have been a regular poster on certain club and league boards since June 2006 and one thing you pick up is that 9/10 comments that resemble a similar nature to the following... "How is XXX going? I heard he has been in great form etc etc" is one of two people... the person himself or an immature mate who is asking and in turn is expecting his mate to inflate his own ego with something like... "Oh yeah he has been going great jagged two bags and dominated, but further up the ground "XXX's mate" has been feeding the ball down his throat sensationally"...

It is a shame with the exams in a week you little tackers are failing to read the statements more than once to ensure you have picked up all the details including the emotive nature in which it is constructed, a horrible habit to possess as it will lead to critical errors come the last Friday in October...

Secondly the beauty about big footy is animosity... you carefully pick the people who you befriend on here and eventually meet in the "real world" as often these people have certain quirks and connections that become valuable in the real world... as I found out on a recent trip interstate to watch my beloved Blues play football. You, Mark Gledhill, have abstained from animosity and have now opened yourself up to constant ridicule... especially when you put in a terrible performance.

As for the banter with the Assumption children, I don't need to have "backups" I'm a big boy and been in enough winning battles with builders, often for variations totalling over $100k's using nothing more than my nous and pure fact, not emotive arguments littered with personal insults and "history" obtained from a "Come play footy at Assumption" pamphlet.

All the best with your upcoming exams and GAT.
CWG.

ps: Gibbo, "Ivanhoe" is spelt, I-V-A-N-H-O-E... i wouldn't pick on spelling except when it is a key part of your insult at least ensure you have it correct or else you open yourself up to a plethora of ridicule.
