2nds Ah Chee player of the week

Another podcast with Arch would be great!

Needless to say I'm a fan! Bring him on.:thumbsu:

He needs to come on early, unfortunately Macca will still be at work, so I will pre record an interview with him to run live next week.

I'm happy Ah Chee looks like turning his career around. I liked him when he was drafted like everybody else did, but I was ready to write him off last year and after the pre-season games this year because he looked too slow and couldn't get his hands on the ball.

As for Moore, well the longer he is out of the team the bigger his reputation seems to grow, but if we're being serious Arch has shown more in his 3 games as sub than Moore has in his whole AFL career. Moore has talent but needs a shake up and maybe waiting a while to get his chance isn't a bad thing.

LOL. And you talk about overrating Moore. Let's compare stats to last season, shall we? I mean, he's shown more in 3 games as a sub than Moore has in his whole AFL career, right?

Even if you tripled Ah Chee's numbers to compensate for the lack of game time (which would give him 60% time on ground), the only thing he'd beat Moore decisively in is tackles and clearances per game. But Moore has better spread, better rebounding and kicks goals over a greater sample size.

So no, if we're being serious, Ah Chee has NOT done more than Moore's 2014 in his 3 games as sub, let alone his career.

Moore is a better player than Adam. Imo, Moore is quality but for a number of reasons he seems to not be able to get a really consistent run at it. However he needs to make it happen and happen soon.

I want to get Moore and just shake the shit out of him and shout "STOP BEING A ****ING PUSSY!" He's like the guy with the Asian wife from Dodgeball.

Little early for meaningful stats. Lies Dam Lies and Statistics. Gut feel if choosing between Ah Chee and Moore says Ah Chee. That's just watching Ah Chee for a quarter or two at AFL level and Ah Chee looking our best player at Sanfl level along with the argument Ah Chee is on a steady rise. Just gut feeling.

Yep, Ah Chee looks pretty and shiny and new. I bet if he comes in and plays a full game for less then 10 touches, people will be like 'Oh, but dat HANDBALL!'

The last game Moore played he had 7 disposals, 5 contested possessions, 2 marks, 1 clearance, 1 inside 50 and 2 tackles from 24% game time. That was the preliminary final against Hawthorn. He also got into a position to actually win the game with one of those marks inside 50.

Against the might of West Coast, Ah Chee had 4 disposals, 3 contested possessions, 2 marks, 3 clearances, 4 tackles and 2 inside 50s from 24% game time.

Now tell me again about how Ah Chee has done more in his AFL career than Moore.

I'd like Arch to play the next 47 games then I'll make an accurate comparison between him and Moorey.

Moore has played 50 games. When did that happen?

My post was never about whether Ah Chee could or would be the better player. He may very well be. It was to correct someone who made the hyperbolic statement that Ah Chee has done more in 3 games then Moore has done in his entire career.

Sam Russell Continues to provide a strong contest and make it tough for his opponent. Would like to see a little more offensive run at times but Sam is developing nicely.

Doesn't normally rack up stats, I for one believed he was going to get delisted at the end of the season purely because of this. however, this review gives hope that sam's going in the right direction and the club is clearly quite content with his progress. Looks like he will be with us for another year.

Moore has had 6 years on the list and 50 games at AFL level and is still yet to prove himself as a best 22 player. In fact, he hasn't really done very much exceptional at all. He averages 13 disposals a game, two tackles a game, a goal every 3 games. He's only hit the 20 disposal mark in 8/50 games. At best, we could hope he turns out to be a solid, workmanlike midfielder.

Ah Chee is virtually untried at AFL level and has shown enough promise for the Magpies (apparently) to suggest he could be something better than a solid player. That's not to say he will, but his ceiling is surely higher than Moore's at this point in time.

Moore Young has had 6 5 years on the list and 50 36 games at AFL level and is still yet to prove himself as a best 22 player. In fact, he hasn't really done very much exceptional at all. He averages 13 11 disposals a game, two tackles a game, a goal every 3 2 games. He's only hit the 20 disposal mark in 8/50 1/36 games. At best, we could hope he turns out to be a solid, workmanlike midfielder.

Yet on this board, Young is rated as the far superior talent. Go figure. :p

I like young

Never been a fan of moore...just meh vanilla...never has given me any inkling he can make it....though he has some decent moments now and then

i love achee

But its a good position to be in...all three make good replacements for injuries poor form etc

In what way mate? I rate Moore but it's not hard to see why he isn't in the side. There are guys performing better.

nah, moore has been dominating games, ahchee has been too as well as young when he has gone back to the sanfl but moore is having a huge year.

Young has been the starting sub in 16 out of his 36 AFL games (44%), Moore has been the starting sub in 6 out of his 50 AFL games (12%).

Given that Moore is a year older, has more AFL experience, and gets more gametime when he is in the side, the fact that Young's stats stack up pretty evenly against Moore's indicates that Young is indeed the better talent.
