You beauty...something to look forward to...a decent ruckman - does that mean MM will keep J Cloke on the pine all weekend, bet you he will...J Cloke has been asked to do something for the club (be the second ruckman) and he has succeded and i am sure he will ruin his career (again) on sat afternoon.

Who's willing to take money that C1 will line up "as selected" at Full Forward this week??? That's got about as much chance as the bottom placed team beating the top team.... oops! that happened! :D

But seriously, I agree with LF50. He's been a great second ruckman the last two weeks (despite being 189cm) and has found his niche (again). Perfect time for MM (that's Mick Malthouse, not Madd Matt!) to screw it all up by playing him:
a) across half/full forward; or
b) on the bench all day.

Let's be positive here. Good luck to Flaps as ruckman 1, good luck to Stretch as ruckman 2, and good luck to C1 at Richmond next year! :p

Ps Re Jason Cloke

He has proven that he may be of value to Collingwood in the long run, especially with his ability to take a contested mark and play hard accountable footy, and a seemingly improved level of fitness, not to mention an outstanding attitude.

I dont think he has a "position" neccessarily, he will be a permanent spare parts man, playing defence, on ball (not neccessarily just as a ruckman but maybe as a ruck-rover type), or in the forward line as a third/fourth tall, or even on the bench as circumstances dictate. He could yet make the grade due to his flexibility across the ground.

Definitely a keeper. He's still a shot at making the grade, IMO.

Since Cloke has been back, he has put more effort into his game then half the senior playing squad. With the other tall backs being close to the 30 mark, and Walker not coming on, Jason Cloke is a must stay player at Collingwood. Nick Maxwell doesn't have the physique to play key position and is a good 3rd or 4th backman. If we get rid of C1 then it shows a lack of vision for the next couple of years.

Nick maxwell doesnt have the physique - yet. He's still young, got a few years yet to build up his physique.

but that said, C1 shouldnt be going anywhere. I have been saying so for most of this season. He can be a good KPP in years to come.

with stretch back he will alternate between ruck and bench, with Jason and Fanno playing ruck/roaming ruck or forward

no need for Jason to be in at the centre bounce, but with Trav out, i would say he and Fanning and perhaps Richards at times will be roaming the square

Go Guy, welcome back. Good to have a real ruckman again. It has been good for fanning though, he has gained some key experience, i just dont think he is up to it. But every one didnt think Guy had it and he is our best ruckman, so you never know. And yes he is a better ruckman, not player, than fraser.
