Turning 26 this vic lad is a free agent has played 83 games, one of the better free agents available. Where does he fit, being behind obviously Taylor and Davis. Essentially playing third tall?

GWS will no doubt be prioritising others like Cameron. Will they be able to keep this guy too or will they be willing to let him go to keep others?

Technically Taylor is the third tall

It’s interesting especially when you throw Haynes in the mix also who plays that third tall role albeit more agile
You finally get your men. Will fit in nicely in North line up, tarrant not getting any younger.

We could definitely use a young KPD at north and there’s a few out of contract so it’s just a matter of crossing them off in order starting with Moore then Battle then Corr
Moore and battle not RFA a bit to play out.

I've always been curious about this guy. Genuine 195cm big defender, former top 15 draft pick. Never quite seems like he's truly established himself or been fully trusted as a core backline player at the Giants (has played 86 of a possible 157 games). Why hasn't he really "come on" as a player yet? Has he had any major injuries that have curtailed his progress? Does his original draft position fool people into thinking he should be better than he is (5 of the 13 players drafted ahead of him in 2012 are already out of the league, and another 3 are at their second club already)?

The reduced games are primarily due to several injuries that he's had, including a couple of years where he battled osteitis pubis (but seems to be over it now). Generally when's he's fit he's selected - as was seen last year when he was rushed back into the final two rounds of the season when GWS were battling to stay in the top 8, and then all of the finals. He's a solid but not a star player - has some closing speed but not the fastest, can play 1-on-1 but not in the top echelon of such players. Despite someone commenting above about GWS being too tall, that's the way that Leon likes to select the team - essentially Davis, Taylor & Corr can swap around the talls but all have some speed & can intercept, while Haynes plays the main interceptor off a mid-sized player rather than taking a tall (although sometimes takes a tall in a 4-way rotation). I would be surpirsed if he leaves; he's a pretty below-the-radar player, plays his role well for us but could be exposed if picked up by another team to be more than what he is capable of doing.

In short, exactly the kind of player we need - not flashy, plays his role, not overpaid (hopefully!), not wanting to be more than he is capable of being & stays.

Shoulder - reco 2014 (played 4 games)
Ankle - deltoid ligament - 2016 (played 3 games)
Osteitis Pubis 2018 (rd 17- rd 6 2019)
Calf (rd 8-21)
Other niggles along the way (broke his hand a few year ago too)

One of Leon’s favourites. Missed most of last year with a calf, played 1 NEAFL then in for round 22 through to the GF. When fit he fits in the 22.

Definitely a player North should chase, along with Zac Williams. Robbie Tarrant, as great as he is, needs some help down back...

Maybe Essendon too, Hurley looks cooked and they really should play Hooker as a forward more often.

GWS tend to be very towards players who want to come home and or seek better opportunities elsewhere.

oh ok fair enough, wasn’t aware it was only the year they become a free agent that have to be in the top bracket of highest paid players.

it has to do with their salary in the year they go so whether they have been frontloaded or backloaded. it's why frawley was a UFA because Melb heavily frontloaded his deal so in the last year of it he was outside their top 25 % of wages.

His kicking needs improvement

Doesn’t kick to advantage, a bit of a lazy kicker
He has been taking the kick ins which has surprised me because I also don't think his strength is his kicking.
Would be keen for port to have a nibble for the right price.
