Heading to Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Paris, London and Ireland in a few weeks so will def be giving it a crack. About to lock in a joint in Madrid for a few days.

Used Airbnb in 2 separate locations in Hollywood over a 7 week period.

I think it's all about having a good host. Someone that genuinely cares about making your experience a good one.

You can get some real dickheads who let their places out though..........I just paid the extra in the end and secured residence from someone that knew what they were doing............It was worth it.
 
How do you guys go about keeping your valuables safe while you're travelling and staying with a host through AirBnB?

Of course, taking passports and everything you can carry on your person. But what about laptops? Just lock them up in your luggage?

To be honest, don't even do that. To me, it's different to a hotel where someone is in your room every day. That might be naive but pick the right place and I've never had any issues.
