I'm in an High Achievers Year 8 Class thank you very much, and I don't believe in fixing up typos, it's a public forum and who really cares...As long as you can read it with full stops, commas, capital letters, there is no need for concern...And I bet you Essendon fans have a much higher IQ then you Blues fans....How long did it take you to realise your team is not as good as you Blues fans say it is ? No doubt your a Blues supporter..;)

Thanks, you just confimred my greatest fears aboout the rapidly declining standards in education.....as parrot would say, a real mess :)

A Ruck-Rover? or a Ruckman?

ruck-rover.

Hammer and Kreuzer will be our first team ruck pairing in the future (barring injuries)I think which means that we will be either using Aisake somewhere on the forward line or as a ruck-rover.

And a quick, agile 202cm player would be awesome in either position, but I think that he would be a lot better suited as a ruck-rover...

I'm 14 mate, not 13, so start making valid points then you can start talking like you know something....
Listen to you, trying to sound all sophisticated. FAIL.

The only thing Essendon are in contention for next year is a wooden spoon.

Lloyd = One position SPUD.

When I think ruck-rover, i think 163cms of Tony Liberatore...

Aisake = "The Rock"

Watched a very good kids movie with the family last night (Disney production called "The Game Plan") and couldn't believe the uncanny resemblance between Aisake and "The Rock" (Dwayne Johnson).

Must be the Polynesian blood - the rock is of Samoan extraction and I believe Aisake's mother is Fijian or Samoan. Obviously Aisake's body proportions have got a lot closer to "The Rock's" in recent times, but the facial resemblance is very strong!

From here on the new nickname/chant for Aisake is: Rock, Rock, Rock...

i opened this thread thinking that i was going to see highlights of Aisake running away from a football or laying a one handed tackle.
Consider this notification that I am watching your very next contribution on this board. Nothing useful to say, don't say anything at all.

Can you please remove carlton from the team you support. You are the worst carlton "supporter" i have ever encountered

I'm actually the best supporter you've seen... you just don't know it. I know the game inside out, forwards and backwards. I know when things aren't up to standard, and I'm not afraid to point them out... I'll give praise, but only when it's due... not just for the sake of it. I've supported Carlton for 20 years, but I'm a very objective football supporter. For instance, I actually think Collingwood are a fantastic football team who give their supporters great value, despite a playing list that broken down individually isn't that great... (as much as I despise their supporters, imbeciles). See, I can appreciate something like that... I'm tipping you can't... that's an example of what makes me a football person... and it what makes you just a narrow minded barracker... you might as well be a Collingwood fan.

Sorry if it upsets someone like you who looks at all things football through navy blues glasses with blind optimism, who's most likely never played any competitive sport and wouldn't know what it feels like to play for something that actually matters if you win or lose... wouldn't know what it's like to run back with the flight of the ball, run head first into a pack, or get cleaned up and have to get up and keep going.

Re the Tanking comment, if you don't think Carlton were throwing games last year... then, well, game set match.... you have no idea.

And for the record, I hope you're tipping as much money into the Carlton FC that I am each year.

So please, don't YOU tell ME, which team I can and can't support.

I guess it comes down to whether supporter means to support financially or to support physically or a combination of both. If I support my daughter, I support her financially and emotionally. If she is trying to progress I do not constantly point out her failings but instead concentrate on the positives and nurture those. If her behaviour is criminal or indecent, I would voice my displeasure and then return to focus on how to correct that by pushing the positives again.

I often wonder why people do 'support' a team that makes them so obviously unhappy and cynical. Surely there are other life endeavours more worthwhile if one was to feel that way?

Let's not take this out of perspective. We're talking a football team, not a child. Apples and oranges.

Football gives me a lot of pleasure... more than most.... 3-4 games a week, and I'd get almost as much enjoyment out of watching two neutral teams than a Carlton game... moreso over the last five years. Has there been an awful lot of positives during the clubs darkest time, while we have been a laughing stock?? I think not.

Secondly, why would I post meaningless, 'feel good' crap to join in with your little love-in on the Carlton board and repeat comments that have been made 500 times over by you lot already, therefore making next to zero contribution, and blending in with the other dull, bland rubbish that circulates here??

And you have?

This makes you less qualified to speak on football than someone like Libba, Crackers Keenan or Frawley.

Which isn't saying much.

So you're posting just to keep your post count up and say something to attract attention or make a thread interesting?

That figures after you totally missed the point of my post about Russell's game against Collingwood. Which you promptly turned into a negative and put down because of games where he didn't play well. If you knew as much as you think you know, you'd find something someone had missed and comment on that than be a negative poster all the time.

Or you could analyse a player's strengths and weaknesses.

Flog.

The problem with people when the always think they are right is that they don't realise they are wrong. Sounds kind of obvious, but it speaks volumes.

There is absolutely no attempt to consider what others are saying, why bother ?

There is no questioning of ones own position, again, why bother if you are right hey ?

Thats why its so frustrating dealing with people who are so deeply smitten with themselves, their opinion, their thoughts, their ideas...a general self love which knows no borders and seeks not to question themselves.

When you slate someone, or something, you are not doing them a favour by pointing out their failures. When all you do is slate, then you are not a supporter, no matter how much money you give.

Try and find some positives mate, and any time you need to borrow the keys to teh room of mirrors to have a good hard look at yourself it will be a pleasure to point you in the right direction, its good to understand we are made up of more than FIGJAM.

Yep, all part of the Sheeds 2003 to 2006 Top-Up recruitment policy. lol. What a disaster. The Dons list is a complete mess. There will be 5 to 6, 30 year old and older players in their starting 22 in 2008, and their younger player group is without doubt the least talented in the AFL. The other unique feature at Essendon is their complete lack of a midfield. The toxic infighting over the Sheeds sacking, not only led to them missing out on Judd, but it forced them to choose a left-over coaching candidate, who will fulfill a caretaker role. What a disaster. Little wonder why the Dons along with the Tiges are odds-on 2008 spoon favourites. :)

Do you even know what odds-on means?

Unbackable favourites to win. As in "The Tigers are odds on to win the spoon this year". What's your theory?

Where you win less than you invest, after your investment is returned to you. Like if you put $100 on Carlton to win the spoon, and when they do you only get $190 back.

Let me know if you need a simpler explanation, your reputation preceeds you.;)

Ah, der? The point being made is your team is considered a much better chance of "winning" the wooden spoon in 2008 than all others in the race. Betting money on it and the reduced return is academic. How embarrassing for you. You do realize this is a public forum.

INT - TRAIN - NIGHT
Two men in the drivers cabin of a locomotive as it barrels through the night. Neither of them is paying any attention to where the train is headed. One is applying Marching Girl fake tan to his leg, the other is busy with a well-thumbed copy of the 1996 AFL Grand Final Record.

EXT - PLATFORM - NIGHT
The train is stationary. The two men peer into the darkness of the deserted platform.
MAN 1
He was supposed to meet us here.
MAN 2
Maybe he went somewhere else?
MAN 1
Don't be an idiot. We were in the box seat.
MAN 2
What's that?
MAN 1
I'm not sure.
MAN 2 (mumbling)
Box seat, box seat........
(pause)
Hey, maybe it's in the Boxcar?

The two men look at each other before dashing off into the darkness toward the rear of the train.
