Does anyone belive that excuse?

I think the bottom line is - does he have a sick father? Yes... BUT If that was the primary concern then he would have also considered going to the Gold Coast, which at the time may have made for a better trade for the Pies.

So, no, I dont believe that excuse :P

Personally I'm not fussed if he ends up at Carlton in the PSD. I don't think Aish is an absolute necessity and seeing Brisbane lose Aish for nothing would be beautiful! If we get him, that's awesome, but if Brisbane want to lose him for nothing then that takes them a step closer to folding so that's fine by me!

Brisbane are trying to beat their chests and appear tough but watch the AFLPA and AFL come down on them if they try to go through with refusing to accept a reasonable trade for an uncontracted player. Like us last year with the deadline this is just trying to appease members and put pressure on to get a better deal. He will be a Pie

Deal. Where do we sign?

I really, really hope the Lions hold their stance on this and decide not to trade with us. It would be indicative of how poorly managed that feeder club is and boarder line Ross Lyon level stupidity to let a top 10 pick walk for free.

I agree.

It's not like we need him our midfield is looking great anyway. Like you said, it will say more about Brisbane than anyone else.

Please let him go in the PSD to Carlton!

If they don't trade him we can give Sydney 2 second rounders for there first (14) and pick him up that way Brisbane are losing the plot
This is what I was going to post
He won't go to the Psd, and this would be our offer to them take or leave it
We got Luke Ball the same way offer 30 they didn't take it and he lasted till 30 anyway

Aish's manager, Liam Pickering, said he and his client would not have asked for a trade if they didn't think one would go through.

"We wouldn't have requested [the trade] if they didn't (want to entertain a trade)," Pickering said.

"The Pies were keen to get something to happen and we understand Brisbane's position as well, so there's a bit of work to do."

Well I be Pissed IF we just let Aish go without a Fight. He still has Big Upside

We've gone full circle now. At the time I said I was an excuse and in reality he wanted out of Collingwood. Most on here said otherwise. Now most don't say otherwise. I'm not sure if that is reality setting in or arguments of convenience. The only constant is player leaving Collingwood though which is the real concern.

We will offer them a fair deal but if they don't want it then I will be more than happy to see him go to a team that will be no good for a decade and Brisbane get nothing for him.

1. Don't know about you guy, but if we don't land Aish I won't be too disappointed, a long as we get Treloar. Brisbane fans can come in here and act all tough, but fact is if he goes through the draft you lose Aish and we lose nothing.

2. Could've kept Crisp and pick 25 last year if you had read the play, but like you're on field performances, you can't. Dead end organisation.

Looking forward tohim arriving, assuming he does, what number will, he wear?
Ps matt s will be happy too
Win win win

Exactly right.. if they don't want to do buisness then F#$@ them. They're the ones that are losing out either way

Great result. Surprising they don't want to do a trade considering we sent them Beams last year....

Eh?

I'm about to go post the following on the Brisbane board so I'll see you all in a day.;)

So let me get this straight.

We had a player who was contracted, a previous best and fairest winner, All Australian and premiership player yet we still facilitated a trade in good faith and got Beams to where he wanted to go.

Brisbane have a soon to be uncontracted player, a former top 10 pick and a promising young talent no doubt but one who had a poor 2015 season and is only 2 years into a career.

Spot the difference.

And yet unlike us Brisbane aren't even prepared to sit down and see what we are prepared to offer and will lose him for nothing.

Yeah that's how to run a football club.

By the way you don't see our club acting in this truly pathetic manner over Freeman our own player taken inside the top 10 in the same draft, one who will leave without ever giving anything back to the club out on the field.

Grow up Brisbane.

Lions be the Biggest Loser in that Situation.

Aish played well in 2014 but did Nothing this year;)

So have I got this right.

Brisbane asks the AFL for a compensation draft pick but are willing to push Aish to the draft for nothing - yep OK, I can see why most would be happy with that.

The AFL and/or AFLPA should have something to say on this.

Might get more then a week. Making Sense over there;)

Agree - AFLPA could be a Major Weapon for us against the Morons at Brisveagas

For a player to nominate a club, the manager would have to happy with the terms. That includes cash and what they have to offer the original club. Packers would know what Brisbane are likely to accept.
One thing for sure, if Aish doesn't want to play for Carlton, they'll know about it.
Lots to play out. Not counting my chickens. Dunno if I'd be too bothered if he ends up elsewhere. Is good seeing some of the Brisbane flogs squealing. Others are ok.

Aish in the PSD isn't good news for our Treloar deal. Carlton would likely commit to him and that would take them out of the picture for picking Treloar which as it stands is a good bargaining chip for us with GWS. Our best bet is to do a quick deal on Treloar and then negotiate for Aish.
Why would Aish nominate for the PSD?

(Why Treloar would do that either is another baffling question but let's assume there is some truth to that rumour for now)

Not fussed to be honest. Happy to do a deal in trade week.
But the Lions cutting off their nose to spite their faces isn't so bad either.
Either way I'll be happy.

Anyone else hope Brisbane actually does cut of their nose to spite their face here?

I don't even care if we get him, but them getting nothing for him would a disaster for the bears.

Can't wait either way! Lose/lose situation for them, but **** I hope they make him walk and they get nothing.
