TG never abuses other posters, may have debatable opinions, but always shows respect to other posters posts and thoughts.

He was defending TG. He made the point of being angry at posters abusing others by ....abusing posters.

The irony made me laugh and I used a colloquial term to describe my giggle in a way that also linked into the person he was defending. 'That's Gold' / THATSGOLD

Que the moment you find yourself explaining the joke and realising if you have to do that it wasn't that funny.

One premiership in the past 45 years would suggest we should look elsewhere for advice on winning flags.
Means a lot coming from a gutless turncoat.

you'd be hard to find a Lions poster who gives a sht about Aish TBH.
A lot harder to find anyone who gives a shit about your basket case of a club, no shortage of those laughing at it's plight but.

North are a weird side... they seem to somehow sneak in to preliminary finals. I don't ever rate them as a top 4 side (we beat them this year yeah?), and I can't see them ever getting higher than 7th or 8th each year with their ageing list and inconsistent performances... but hey - good on em for somehow getting there each year. Better than we've done the last 2 years I guess.

At the end of the day though, who cares who plays in prelims? Who actually even cares who comes runner up in grand finals? No one. People only care about premierships. In that regard, I am so much happier being a Collingwood supporter, knowing that we are developing a young list that could have the potential to win one, than supporting a team that has a strange list made up of blokes that are never going to be terrible but aren't good enough to win it.

Some place, somewhere a village is missing their idiot. Please return.

possibly but at his time in Brisbane he was a fairly modest, well mannered lad albeit of an "old head" as they say. He liked to hang around the older players at the club instead of his peers. I think his move is equally motivated with his off field work. He done a lot of humanitarian stuff and helping refugees/immigrants etc. getting them involved in footy. I think he kinda struggled to get recognition/exposure up here in Brisbane for that kinda work and wanted a higher profile so naturally he wants to play for the biggest band wagoner club in Australia.

Look how upset this guy is. :D:thumbsu:

I don't get it.

There is a trade and draft section where you can go and comment on trades with posters from other clubs. Why do some opposition posters feel the need to then come to club boards for further discussion?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we win the flag in 1990? Wouldn't that technically make it 2 in 45? Not that that's a great deal better, but if you're going to bag us for not winning premierships, at least get your numbers right.

Often wonder the same.
Maybe it's just plain and simple trolling in most instances.

Technically we've won 15 in just over 100 years....that'd be considerably more than the Fitroy\Brisbane Paddle Pop Bears! Fact.

Most of our older players are average, after Boomer the next most important senior player is Goldstein who recently turned 27. By the end of this draft half our list will be 23 or under, the younger players are the reason the team is doing better now. I think part of the reason we have been inconsistent is we have had a lot of injuries the last couple of years, particularly early in the season.

At the end of the day though, who cares who plays in prelims? Who actually even cares who comes runner up in grand finals? No one.

Most teams that bottom out and rebuild from youth don't make it, clubs roll the dice when they take that route. The longer you spend outside of the top 8, the less valuable the experience that you acquire is and the harder it is to go from potential to delivering on that potential. Look at Richmond, on paper they have a load of talent, can't perform under the weight of expectation, haven't been conditioned to it for too long.

Only on BF is having potential better than delivering. There is no magic wand that delivers premierships, it is about putting yourself in a position to contest and improving on your weaknesses. Somehow this is lost on Collingwood supporters? Your 2010 flag was built on the foundations of the failed attempts during the Brisbane and Geelong reign. It wasn't the greatest list on paper, but it worked and Malthouse got it to work, Collingwood had a period put themselves in a good position to contend (top 4) and got confidence from winning finals.

That is all a supporter can ask of their club, to have a crack, that is the hard part, anyone can just not win and draft kids, there are a lot of clubs that are good at not winning games of footy.

This whole "you've only won this number of flags in this time period" if crap.

You can grab statistical anomalies for anything you like....you have to look at the overall picture.

Technically there are only 2 clubs with 1 more flag than us....and it has been proven they both cheated to win their 16 flag. That is undeniable fact!

I love it when north fans try to tell everyone that their list is not old.

I just find it odd that in 24 hours I've seen 2 actual NM fans
And one of them changed his profile details to look like a gws fan

Lol so you're pretty much saying he's too good of a person for Brisbane Lions....

At least one of you can admit it

Carlton have traded Tom Bell and Pick 41 to Brisbane for Pick 21 and Pick 60.

Is it a sign the aish trade could drop soon?

Can't hope but feel this is going to impact significantly on the Aish deal.

Since we have taken so incredibly long to get anything done, I'm expecting at least 1 trade to drop.
