Pick 17, a player and a 4 year contract for a guy no one else wants? No wonder Brisbane are stuck in the shit end of the ladder. Sounds like they will be for some time. Maybe the afl will start doing their trades for them.

We have had offers we wanted to go with from North but he refuses to go there, Pies have not given us an offer that’s going to meet our requirements. Where do we go from there? We will get him to a club in Melbourne one way or another. Its not Brisbane’s fault Collingwood have him 3rd in line as a trade priority this year behind Trelor and Howe.

It's attitudes like yours which has caused si much craps between our boards. pity we couldn't send Beams wherever we wanted.

You have NFI what will happen so don't talk in absolutes.

Highly unlikely that would happen. Youth recruitment has come a long way since Watts was drafted.
No it hasn't. In fact I'd say it is exactly the same position. Watts wasn't that long ago and all draftees are punts on development and maturity.

He's already gone back on his word by negotiating with North.

In other news; once Aish is a Magpie can we jump into the Delorean and change the draft records to reflect that he never played for the COLA Lions, and that we never picked up Nathan Freehamstrings?

Glad you're so confident.

Where's the Aish video? Like the secret Treloar video, where is it?:)
So when are you going to hand out awesome avatar's like mine that we made together for everyone to celebrate??

I might dump some in the new Welcome to Collingwood threads, that are pending. I'm going to be busy in the afternoon though.

AFL trades 2015: North Melbourne deal leaves Collingwood scrambling on James Aish

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-tr...scrambling-on-james-aish-20151021-gkehzb.html

Collingwood are scrambling to find a future draft pick to satisfy the Brisbane Lions in a deal for James Aish after the Lions have all but finalised a separate deal with North Melbourne for Ryan Bastinac.

While there had been discussions about a three-way trade involving three clubs with Aish getting to Collingwood and Bastinac to Brisbane, the Lions have found a way to land the North midfielder without involving the Magpies.

Under the North deal with the Lions, which is close to being completed, Brisbane will give up pick 17 and receive picks 38 and 40 in return from North with Bastinac.

As a result of that deal, the Lions would have enough draft "points" - despite losing pick 17 - to cover the cost of their two talented academy players, who are expected to attract higher bids.

The Aish negotiations between Collingwood and Brisbane have already seen the Pies offer up the future second-round pick they have received from St Kilda for Nathan Freeman.

But it is understood Brisbane want another future second-rounder in 2016, when they will have another highly sought academy player. They no longer feel they need second-round picks in this year's draft. Collingwood are already committed to trading their future first-round pick for Adam Treloar, a deal that has been agreed in principle but still hasn't been signed off. This means they cannot their own future second-rounder but the Pies can, however, trade future picks they gain in a trade.

Stands to reason that this is what would be happening, I dare say there's someone who would be happy to back themselves in and trade for a 2015 pick as a gambit that they'll improve next year.

Ahh why wouldn't we just get GWS to kick in their future second in the AT deal especially now that they've got the Geelong future 1St round pick? Or we head to a club we have a good trading relationship with? It's a non-issue!
