I’m interested to get peoples take on Aish's position in your best 22. He struggled to make Brisbane's best 22 this year and was dropped a couple of times. You guys have a stronger list so do you think he will make your team?

Talent wise he's clearly in both of our best 22's - lost a bit of focus and application this year for whatever reason but the talent level is there (you wouldn't have questioned his status in 2014).

The academy system is on Ed and Newbold. That created a lot of resentment and is open to plenty of exploitation because of the 20% discount and picks getting reshuffled to left over value.

I don't know what the deal is or will be I'm just saying that whatever they ask for find it for them (within reason) to get past the angst that appears to currently exist.

FWIW we're good things to walk away from this trade period with each player we targeted and finding new homes for guys that wanted out so that's a tick. However I don't think we've covered ourselves in glory in the process of acquiring said talent.

What are you referring to specifically?

Yes he is we have a need for outside run and polish Aish provides that.
He lost desire to play for brisbane etc etc, and didn't wanna be there with motivation to play well absolutely[/QUO

His form dropped and we recruited Beams, Robinson and Christenson. They were all contributing factors. We tried to play him inside mid but he is a bit soft. You guys have inside players already so you can play him on the outside and that should suit him better.

The surgery and the video getting out.

Anyone that thinks we didn't have at least a finger in the surgery pie is kidding themselves and the video was a PR disaster, IMO. The video size was 51mb according to a poster on here so with a good connection it could have been uploaded immediately after the trade was completed and still been ready to go within half an hour of the deal going down. It also probably cost our site a few thousand hits because every man and his dog had already seen it prior to it going "live".

Let's then make a comparison to Geelong who acquired and moved on 8 players in the first week of the period with an absolute minimum of fuss. They aren't things that are worthy of hang, drawing and quartering those involved over so that is why I used the language I did.

I wonder if we can fashion our 2 2015 2nd rounds for a mid first round and pass that on for Aish. Might be better to keep our own and Freeman 2nd round for next years draft which sounds better.

It wont happen - if clubs were shopping mid first round picks (and that's where the value is in the 2015 draft) then they'd be open about it and would want an established player back (or move further up in the draft order) in return.

Doubt any non points-requiring club would bite at that, and we've missed the boat with Sydney there already.

Depends if the players from 15-30 are all much of a muchness. Two players in that frame versus one slightly better one might tempt someone.

Whatever happens i am pretty happy with Treloar and Howe, both fill massive needs, Aish is the icing on the cake.

Can't it be?

Bastinac and next year's second to Brisbane from North
Aish to Collingwood
26 and 28 to North from Collingwood plus 2016 Second Rounder to Brisbane from Collingwood (the one we got from St.Kilda)

3 Second rounders for Aish? Nope. 28 to North, 2016 to Brisbane and if North want more then Brisbane can stump up.

3? No 2.

The 2nd rounder 2016 we got from St.Kilda
North 2016 2nd Rounder

North then gets 26 and 28 from us

We get Aish and maybe another low pick from either Brisbane or North

The fact that they expect the deal to go down to the wire says to me that a deal will be struck, just about maximising the compensation as best as possible.

Lions to be Pricks just because they still Pissed with us over Beams last year - Pathetic:rolleyes:
Or shocking, the Pies just aren't coming to the table with a respectable offer?

You value Aish way too highly. I'd be ropable if we gave away 3 second round picks for him. He's good, but not that good.

Nah, regardless of anything, your club is still pathetic.
