Aker? Good or Bad

Aker is a dead set superstar but does he say too much?


Is his voice good for the game or does it damage it?

I reckon he's great. Loud-mouth, OTT, opinionated, up himself... whatever.
He's entertaining and he backs it up on the footy field.

Having met Lynch, and heard him speak at family days, etc., I wouldn't regard him as being arrogant at all - in fact, from my experiences he's one of the more genuine players that I've met. I don't know if his public/playing persona is perceived differently, although, the "choking" gesture to S.West back in '99 was a bit arrogant I guess . . . but it was a pretty good call though (and West did give him one prior to it, from memory)!

Certainly, out of the Lions players, there are a few others who I would perceive as being arrogant, or at least, more arrogant than Lynch.

As for Akermanis, at times tends to come across as being a bit full of himself at times, although, on the whole, I can't say it really bothers me, and it's all just part-and-parcel of him as a player and a person. I wouldn't really know enough about him personally, to make a judgement, apart from what is promoted in public. Overall, he's a pretty enjoyable player to have at the club.

All I know, is that I am glad he plays for us, and with all that is 'Aka' he is respected and liked amongst his team mates and that is obvious and that is all I care about.

He probably does say too much at times, but it'd really only concern me if he couldn't back up all the talk on the field, and he does so it doesn't really bother me.

As I've said before, I think it's good to see a player who isn't afraid to speak his mind.

It will probably get him into a truckload of trouble at some point. I’m sure he has got some sort of media career in mind.

It’s all a bit of fun he can drop a few lines and watch everyone jump up and down all week. If he couldn’t play footy, I reckon he’d be trolling around here.

I’m sure he loves the way he can drive some mad.
