Hate to burst your perfect little bubble but I've seen the photo's and he is the only player that doesn't actually look ripped. I'm sure he's in for a big year but toned and ripped? I don't think so

What Rohan is saying is spot on - if Didak is to achieve his best, he needs to curb his off-field behaviour. In the past it has been a problem. In the future it may not, but only time will tell if he takes this last last chance he has been given. The fact is he will only achieve his best if he avoids the booze.

Sorry but that is a total crock, VFL/AFL history is littered with many great players who have led a less than professional life away from the club. He did manage to win a B&F recently or are you saying he was on the wagon that year? An obvious recent example is that bloke who was an Ice addict but managed to win a brownlow & play an integral part in a premiership. Voss didn't mind getting on the piss, there was also that handy player for the Kanga's, Wayne somebody, I seem to recall he went all right too.

Curbing his lifestyle would mean Did's made fewer headlines but it wouldn't necessarily lead to him becoming a better player. Whilst it is possible it could it is also possible it could have the opposite effect.

Queer is a derogatory term.. you scream blue bloody murder when others do it to you.. hypocritical in the extreme :thumbsd:
Tess's prerogative to decide how to describe a group she is a part of.
Too much bloody jumping up and down over words which simply tell it how it is.

First of all, I reckon you should take Vossy off that list. I will give you Cousins, but even he was known as one of the hardest workers on the track, which Dids is not. One of Dids' problems has always been his endurance - not so with Cousins.

For every 1 Cousins, there is 100 players (ie Bucks) who get where they are because they make sacrifices to get there.

Dids had a great year in 06, and I can't comment on his off field situation, but all I am arguing is he cuold have been even better if he had have paid attention to his recovery, fitness, etc rather than pissing on on a Sat night. There is no doubt that alcohol afftect recovery.

The details of my life are quite inconsequential.. My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a 15-year-old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize; he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes, he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament... My childhood was typical: summers in Rangoon... luge lessons... In the spring, we'd make meat helmets... When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds — pretty standard, really. At the age of 12, I received my first scribe. At the age of 14, a Zoroastrian named Wilma ritualistically shaved my testicles — there really is nothing like a shorn scrotum — it's breathtaking... I suggest you try it.

Great quote.:thumbsu::)

So much anger in this thread that should be directed towards Carlton supporters and not ourselves :(
We have been a somewhat disjointed group on Bf for a while sadly scruff

So you feel that in order for Didak to reach the next level, he should mantain his prematch routines of having a weekend bender 6 days before a season defining game and he should ride around with convicted murderors directly after a game?

Firstly he did not have a bender every game.
Secondly the gent he was in the car with had not committed the murder nor been convicted of it at the time.

Minor details to a moralist but details nonetheless.

Didak has committed some minor transgressions re: drinking at inappropriate times yes...he is not the first player to do so nor will he be the last.
As to your assertion that Didak is in some way "guilty" by association with the soon to murderer then you must also apportion some blame to the hitchhikers Milat picked up prior to their own murders.

Does not make sense really does it.

Constantly harping on about thes matters won't make didak a better player or a better person.

Firstly he did not have a bender every game.

He had a bender around the time of the 1st Hawthorn game, which was reported that Heath Shaw had an incident at a Nightclub.

Secondly the gent he was in the car with had not committed the murder nor been convicted of it at the time.

He was a high profile member of the Hells Angels, you do the adding of 1 plus 1.

Didak has committed some minor transgressions

If you call lying to the face of your captain, coach & president minor...

re: drinking at inappropriate times yes...

How many players go on weekend long benders 6 days before a crucial or effectively, a mini final?

I didn't say Didak was gulity of anything to do with that murder. He was gulity of being an idiot numerous times, after a big night out he is in a car where a guy fires shots in the air & is called before the club to defend his actions, almost a year later he is involved in a situation such as the Geebung case.

He just doesn't have the offield resolve to be an elite player.

Hahaha, good call.

Can't defend him for this.

Chrisopher was NOT even a Member of the Angels he just knew a few of them. Would you like a call from The Angels President to confirm this for you?

If you call lying to the face of your captain, coach & president minor...

Must admit that was a Blonde moment for the boys, but Ed failed in his handling of the whole matter.

I think you have been sanitised Ro, this goes on all the time.

Most normal guys and even some girls would be having a ball in that situation. How many of us would knock back a drive in a NEW 2 Door Merc and a visit to a Bikies HQ after a few drinks.... Most people would go along I would suggest.

I disagree.

Go back and read what you posted.
Didak's only transgressions were to have a few too many drinks at not particularly appropriate times and to get two "lifts". He had no more way of knowing that one driver would "later" become a murderer than he did of knowing Heath Shaw would crash.

Huff and Puff as much as you like....them is da facts. Period.
As to his lying to the Club. Yes he did.
He lied to protect a mate and he has paid the price.

In answer to your question "How many players go on weekend long benders 6 days before a crucial or effectively, a mini final?"
Plenty have before and plenty will again.

Why are'nt you over on the Hawthorn Board demanding their players protected by the injunction are "outed".

These are real issues. Didak has done his time and it will be up to him to do the best he can with his last chance.
If he wins the Copeland next year what will you have to say?

didak has done a couple of stupid things.. the only truly bad thiong he did was lie to his employer... i mean seriously, how many people here have lied to their employers??? i bet most would have at some stage....the difference being you didnt have to face media persecution as a result of it....

anyway.. for those who dont support dids.. bugger you.... lets see how much you love him when he is winning games for us off his own boot next year.....

Mate this is more then just an employment, this is his life, his friends, he lied to their face. I guess its easy to criticise if your not in the situation or never have been.

Also i think that getting in the car with a drunk driver is worse, because it could have had permanent effects for him, his team mate and any innocents in the vicinity.

He may well owe us but the fact of the matter is he get's paid very handsomely to do what he does .
His best is what we should be expecting every year . Like every other player on our list .

I understand motivation is a powerful factor and they aren't robots but sometimes you have to ante up . Week in week out .

C'mon, logic on BigFooty will never take off ;)

I have to agree with King and RC. I don't get all the hate Cove is getting in this thread, but he is spot on regarding Didak.

Dids is my favourite player, still. But he does needs to curb his off-field behaviour to ever become an A-grader. It has been said a million times, but its the truth.

You forget lying to your captain, president & coach. Now I can identify that everyone has lied to an employer (I have) but it's a poor analogy in a football sense. Totally different envrionments, if you can't look in the face of your captain & tell the truth then you lack the required traits in a cohesive football team.

He had no more way of knowing that one driver would "later" become a murderer than he did of knowing Heath Shaw would crash.

Well if he didn't know the consquences of a drunk driver then he is a bigger idiot then I give Didak credit for. Death & serious injury should be identified by any sensible adult in regards to drink driving.

As for Hudson, a figure with a shaved head, more ink than Optimax, 4AM, at a seedy strip joint & someone clearly under the influence of alcohol, and you take a lift with him. I agree Didak didn't know he had a Colt sitting in his car, but again a poor choice on his part.

so i guess if someone doesnt fit a certain visual sterotype we should avoid them at all costs, according to your logic..... having a bald head/ tatts does not mean the person is or should be considered a criminal... i know many of these shaved head tattoed types... and these guys arent criminals or idiots... just like the streamlined inked look....

just for the record are you a preist, mufti or rabbi ?? are you ultra religious or conservative?? get over it...didak is a 25 y.o and hes made a few silly errors in judgement... he is still young and has pressures and constraints in his day to day life, which is safe to assume, you dont or ever wil have... so before you act all high and mighty take a breath and think about what his roles in these "terrible acts" were.......... getting pissed isnt a crime in australia... as for the lying, this gets back to the media persecution associated with playing with the CFC...

People make bad and or ill informed choices every day.
You are talking about 50% of the Australian male population and 60% of the female population.
Didak, despite his football skill is part of the human race and as such is just as fallible as you and I.
Both affairs have been blown so totally out of oproportion simply because Didak is who he is.
It's pointless arguing with you as you have decided how you feel about the matter.
Thankfully others in a position to actually influence his career see things differently.

You don't have to be Magumn PI to work out the background of such a person if they are at a seedy strip joint at 4AM on a Tuesday morning. It isn't rocket science. Obviously the saying, "the wrong place at the wrong time" applies to Didak in this situation.

None of those here. At 25 Didak should be grown up, an 18 to 22 year old I wouldn't be so harsh on, but there is a time in ones life when they have to mature.

Compare Didak to other AFL players at his own age. I know there is a culture amongst AFL players to enjoy offield activities but few players his age or even younger, have trangressed as badly as Didak.

just a quick question and then ill stop with this discussion because we obviously have 2 differing views... could you tell me in you own words what didaks actual transgressions were??
