Alan Jones Arrested

And still it continues.
More accusations, more charges.
Expensive lawyers at 10 paces.

44 charges reduced to 29 or 27. Just saw it on the news. All of the serious charges have been dropped so keep reaching. He won’t face a jury trial, only a judge.

From the descriptions of that Podcast... It seems like reaching is the sort of thing that got Mr Jones into trouble in the first place.

More new charges? Total charges dropped from 44 to 29 and all the serious charges dropped. Jones doesn’t have to face a jury so obviously the charges are light.
So 25 charges of indecent assault and two of sexual touching against nine alleged victims is light?
The man has form going back to when he was a school teacher.
Are you suggesting he shouldn't be held to account for his abusive actions?

No, I’m not. Just deals in facts and the facts are that the ODPP were reaching with the 44 charges and I wouldn’t be surprised if more charges are dropped!
Going back to when he was a teacher? I didn’t know that he was facing charges from that time!

I don't think any charges were made against him last century, he was arrested in the UK for the toilet block episode in the late 1980's IIRC. I believe he was asked to leave one of the high schools he worked out because of his behaviour with the boys. All the actual charges have been this century, I guess times change and sexually abusive behaviour is much less tolerated now.

I believe???

George Michael also was a fan of public toilets but you probably supported him as he didn’t offend you with his politics.

I'm afraid I know nothing of George Michael's politics and toilet blocks. The public toilet episode is of interest because his mates in the Murdoch press suppressed the story, I'm sure if it was George Michael they would have published it on the front page. I don't give a toss about him being gay.

WRT to the schools, I was travelling in NSW many years ago and met a teacher who knew him and said he was asked to leave because of his handling (pardon the pun) of the boys. I subsequently read Chris Masters books Jonestown which documents his behaviour in some detail. To modern eyes it looks like grooming.

His repeated sexual molestation of young men this century has come to the attention of public and the authorities.

I'm not sure why you wish to defend him so strongly, people who abuse their position of authority to abuse others are scumbags, it doesn't matter if they are straight or queer. It's not acceptable.

Added - read Jonestown and see if you wish to be so supportive of him.

I didn’t say it was because he was gay. It’s because you don’t like his politics.
Answer this question. Are any of the charges related to offences against minors?

Firstly I don't think I have said he's a pedo, though at least one of the charges involved a 17 y.o., so if found guilty he would be a peadophile. He had access, took school children to his bedroom, watched them in the showers, made them drop their pants, flogged them frequently and wrote love letters to them. So there is a good very good chance he has abused more teenagers other than the one he has been charged with. In any case it is still sexual abuse whether they are above 18 y.o. and it remains a terrible abuse of his power and position.

It's nothing to do with his politics, he is a horrible abusive man and I would say the same in he were a labor man, an anarchist or a priest. Ironically, you defend him because of your political beliefs and ignore the masses of evidence over decades. You really need to read the book.

I had a PE teacher like him who watched us in the showers. We made it a joke 'Bums to ground, Mr Priednicks is around". It wasn't so much of a joke when he corralled me in the gym storage closet and came on to me. So I know what these guys are like. Abusive monsters who need to held to account.

Wouldn't be surprised if more victims (if there any more victims prepared to come forwards) come forwards and there are more charges laid before this is all over for him.
