360 Alan Wake

The thing is they've cancelled a version that was all but done anyway, and porting from or to PC via the 360 is a fairly simple task. So really, they've lost money either way.

There's a lot of people pissed off with the decision though.

My thoughts exactly. Gameplay is completely un-innovative and generic. I would hope that we would at least be able to press the x button to call his wife or use QTE's in the fight scenes with the axe dude.

Not saying that they don't. Just that for one, they wouldn't exactly know if this game is going to be selling well or not on the PC (maybe cancelling is showing that pre-order's just aren't strong regardless for this game?).

But the fact is, this was still being developed on the PC until just a few months ago and really wouldn't take that much more to continue it on and be enough to not only please those PC fans who wanted it, but there would certainly not be a massive loss from releasing this game on PC.

The fact the game is looking so awesome, Microsoft probably see this game as a good way to move xbox's, which makes them more money than sticking it on PC to be pirated in 2 days

There has to be more to it than just MS being worried that the game would be pirated. Pirating was around when they announced the game, so obviously they weren't THAT worried about piracy taking their sales.

Certainly wouldn't have to do with MS being worried about the quality of the game and how it would turn out, otherwise Remedy wouldn't have been signed for exclusivity.

Maybe it's going something to do with the 5 year development cycle draining more than it should've and to lower the margin between profit to the development costs they cancelled the PC version so as to make sure they could get as much as possible.

On topic, I seriously can't believe this game is going to be released. Not all that excited by it but will probably check it out if the consensus is good.

I did want this game.... until I saw that footage. I was also going to get it on PC.... until Microsoft said we need to play this game on a comfy couch.

Aside from rocking the Hawaiian shirt/lei combo he also revolutionised home gaming in the mid 1990's. Without him we'd all be playing cartridge based gamecube 2's or be talking up the Saturn's new DVD caddy ad-on. Or not. But he is pretty cool

Looks like a bad version of the Silent Hill Wii game.

Have noticed that. I guess the difference is that the torch in that Silent Hill game isn't used against enemies and there's no combat in that game either.

I still want it though TBCH, even though it's seemingly not getting a release here.

And really I agree with Kerrbs, that trailer wasn't anything special. Surely there'd be plenty more to show off than some of that. And the quality in that vid at times was making the game look horrible.

What's wrong with speaking the truth? Here's also some more truth, I believe that a 360 exclusive COULD be a surprise GOTY. Metro 2033 looks so damn awesome, that's the one game I wish PS3 was getting this year.

Who would've guessed you wouldn't be interested in Heavy Rain (can name more too BTW)...and that you continue to say the PS3 still doesn't have all that great a game line-up when you (apparently) have neglected to play the best of the lot in Uncharted 2.

And who would've guessed that LLD would think every upcoming (and previous) PS3 game would be seen as shit. NOT ME!

Maybe you glazed over what I've said about this game previously and just focused on the fact I said the latest trailer was pretty shit, how exactly is it different to yourself saying that Heavy Rain doesn't look good?

There really was nothing that great about the trailer, it was choppy, constantly jumping from one spot to another with no consistency, of horrible quality and showed barely anything in long enough form to get a real idea of the real meat of the gameplay. I've seen plenty of other Alan Wake trailers that are FAR better than that one was.

I'd buy a PS3 just to play Uncharted 2 and God of War 3, but I really dont want to .

Anyway, that trailer alone probably doesn't do the game justice and since the game is coming out in May, we shouldn't have to wait too much longer for better quality media to surface.

I wasn't interested in Farenheit either, I own an xbox1 copy but it bored the shit out of me.

No big surprise I wouldn't like Heavy Rain, a movie interrupted by QTE's, not my style of game. I love action based QTE's, but not when they're basically the entire basis of the gameplay. I've said various times, the graphics are amazing, the game play doesn't interest me in the slightest.

Wouldn't matter what console the game was on.

I will, however, probably buy the game to give it a go, in the hope of being surprised. A luxury I have by owning both consoles. See I can make an informed opinion from a hands on experience.

And where are you basing this assumption that I have not played Uncharted 2? I most certainly have. I own it and have played approximately 50% of the game. I think it's a very good game. Again, having the ability to buy games for either console and have a truly informed opinion.

And I didn't glaze over what you said about the game previously, I think it's just funny that the "knives" come out, once the game is canned for PC and becoming a 360 exclusive.

I can tell you know, I've seen people rabbit on about Siren: Blood Curse (a very enjoyable game which I own), and call a game that looks to be its superior in the same genre, shit.

See, I'm not a fanboy like you, I simply have a preference for the 360 - you refuse to even buy a 360 and yet, you think you're making an informed opinion and continue to bag it.
