Compo claims should be heard in court, where truths are told with one hand on the bible – by everyone.

WTF, cause your hand is on a book of fiction you're going to tell the truth? The accusers wouldn't front up to an independent panel with highly regarded indigenous lawyers on it. But hey, they'll front up if they have to put their hand on a bible?

When he karks it alot of positive things will be said. Things like:

Thank * he's gone.
The world just got lighter.
Yay we lost an idiot.

etc etc

The only defence/qualifier for Kennett is that he has a serious mental health issue and lived most of his life without getting any treatment, and it so came to define him that even when he couyld get treatment a lot of damage was done/personality traits baked in.

He literally used to wander Treasury Gardens at night when he was Premier and on one of his highs, like bail up ravers who may or may not have been there taking drugs with their mates.

I saw this with my own eyes

I know another guy who had a heroin habit and had scored on Russell Street and gone up to the gardens and use, and freaked out when the Premier of Victoria suddenly appeared beside him on the park bench he was using to mix up on and started ranting and raving.

All friendly, but he's a big man and had that mental health event egde about him.

My favourite Hawkstain argument now is that the priority picks they got that drove their success (under Clarko) are somehow different from the priority picks we've got.

Noting we've never got a pick as high as they did.

Worst supporters in the compo, by a distance.

This is one of the most interesting things I've read about Jeff. Not sure how to unpack it all actually.

Think that’s a bit harsh tbh. He’s very active in the indigenous space, was on an advisory board supporting the Voice and, fwiw, he’s commissioned a giant mural of an Aboriginal child on his office wall in Cremorne - which you can see when going past on the train. So yeah I get the angst towards Jeff and this’ll be an unpopular opinion but the racism allegation you’ve thrown out there is rubbish.

Huh? Jeff came out and publicly opposed the Voice.

He’s certainly a different unit.

I met JK once and was quite surprised. My Dad and I had taken Mum to Melbourne for her birthday. After a Saturday of shopping and watching North vs * at the G we asked the concierge at the hotel we were staying at for a restaurant recommendation. He recommended the Italian restaurant at the newly opened casino (in the temporary premises).

We ended up with a table between JK’s table and Tony Staley’s (he was federal president of the Liberal Party at the time). After JK had finished his meal he went around and spoke to every single table in the (full) restaurant.

I’ve had dealings with a lot of politicians over the years from all sides and never witnessed anyone do anything like that. Most prefer to switch off when they have some downtime but not JK.

That he's got serious mental health issues is no great secret, he's been quite open about it.

He often used to buy afternoon coffee from a cafe in the great space in Collins Street. He was overly polite to the staff and others in the cafe, but in a very creepy way if you ask me.

Jason just pawn in great game of life.

Mongo!
Wasn't the quote something like: Don't shoot him, you'll only make him angry.
Would be a handy Cat 2B pick up to play on the big forwards. Might have to lose the chains though.

When he did stuff like throw sand on journalists, he was literally in the middle of quite a serious mental health episode.

He could never work as politician these days - cameras on phones would do him in within a day.

One of the great characters in one of the greatest ever movies.

Angst? F*ck the f*cking f*cker. I loathe and hate the man. I will be happy when he dies.

I was at a Hawthorn event circa 2018. Game against West Coast at Docklands. Don't ask me how or why I had tickets to it. Anyway, Jeff was the main speaker for the event, and he was ******* funny. Not just chuckling, but proper belly laughter from all corners of the room, me included.

That doesn't alter the fact that he is a colossal prick when it comes to any administrative, corporate or financial matter. You can be affable and likeable in interpersonal situations and can still have plenty of s**t wrong with you

Yep, agreed. I had tea and Tim Tams with a cult leader once. She tried to recruit the bloke I was working with, but said I was too critical because of my birth date or something.
