320 people to come back from the past.

They've got enough stories to string it out for years if it is a hit.

Mildly entertaining. Formulaic. Sam Neil is so hammier than a brothel full of pigs. Every scene was telegraphed way in advance. That last scene with Sam Neil leading the guy into the replica underground prison was laughable.

A big disappointment for mine.

I'd say it's pretty obvious that it's not going to be a typical villain of the week procedural like the one's listed above. Seems like it's going to start off slow and likely delve a bit further into the mythology of what happened and how everything is connected as we get a few more stories about the prisoners. It could easily turn out to be awful though.

I'm pretty sure Fringe started the same way, but slowly developed a deeper story line.

I watched the first two eps last night, I'll give it a chance for now but it certainly has room to improve.

came in here to type the exact same thing and if anyone else is still watching Fringe, they will know where they started and where they are now, are "worlds" apart

there is no way it will just be case of the week

we're all getting used to these JJ type stories that are.....well they are just JJ, i think we're a little numb to them

i'll definitely keep watching, but agree with most that the first couple of episodes wont go down in history as greatest pilots ever

yeah Fringe started out the same way, one problem with these shows is the little hints given in each episode build the "arc" and if you miss a few episodes you can lose total track (and interest) of whats going on

watching shows without ads and having the chance to watch a few back to back, is a completely different experience, especially with shows that aren't just case/murder/monster/whatever of the week

I liked it. We're getting little things here and there and im sure (well at least, I hope) things will tie in together and shift the focus more so to the big mystery.

Ok, so the acting is hammy at best, and there are plot holes a plenty, but they've leaked enough to keep me interested after 5 eps.

Watched the first episode, took me 2 attempts because it was so underwhelming. Main character (female detective) isn't convincing at all, and I just kept cringing at the whole partner-dying aspect, then at the bar "scotch on the rocks" please.. Was also expecting it to be one long plot line so lost interest there too. Probably won't watch any more

watched the first ep.. meh it was a show didn't really grab me, was not sure whether was meant to hate or feel sorry for the prisoner dude (cant remember his name), the chick detective, was very cliche i.e dead partner, uncle with a bar, and the guy from lost looks like he ate the rest of the cast from lost....is that how the series finished up??

have dl the first three eps will give it another go but not holding my breath

Have watched up to ep 5 and have to say ep3 where the guy took the child has been the best one so far , not really that good of a show but ill keep watching as not much else is really on Tv ...zzzzz bring on footy

I sped watched the last couple of epsiodes for work. (Yep, believe it or not.)

Now, JJ has this thing going: you have to keep watching because he's got a weird-arse over-arching thing going that defies normal description. Pepper in clues and red herrings all throughout to keep you interested, but the rest of the time he just dishes up formulaic, typical series stuff. Everything about the show is conventional, apart from the over-arching bit.

It's like a combination of

LOST - new island

and

Fringe - weird ass cases

the difference is, Lost didn't tell you about the island straight away and the cases in Fringe are just better to watch (as fillers in between the arcs)

So, I watched this last night. The lead female was pretty hot, it has Hurley from Lost in it and also that guy from Jurassic Park and the red meat commercials.

I wasn't too impressed when I realised that the weekly protocol will be that there's a bad guy on the loose and he has to be caught. But then it seemed that they have to reveal the reasons WHY the guys time traveled and who brought them to the present, which I suppose is enough to hold my interest.

What I found weird is that there's no focus on how these guys react to being suddenly thrust into the 21st century. They hardly show any surprise at all. Maybe they were expecting to see ipods and other tech when they got out of prison.

I've watched three eps, downloaded the six that are available.

Good show, I like it. But Atavistic does bring up some valid points that I never thought about it.
