Good, I am totally loving their pre packed sealed range of chicken bufferfly, lamb and beef.

Delicious flaves and tender meat; better than the other two big stores...has anyone tried them?

Product and price wise they are fantastic. The checkout at my local Aldi is the only criticism I have as they wont open up additional registers until the que has gone around the corner blocking the freezer section. Every time I go there seems to be someone wanting to return something, getting price checks, hogging the belt, taking forever to pack and not having their money/card ready.

I'm looking forward to them opening in Perth. Cheaper than Coles and Woolies and the quality of their stuff is at least par with those two.

Metcash in WA are currently shitting their pants over Aldi's arrival, but the introduction of,an overseas chain would be good and important in keeping Coles and Woolies on their toes.

Just wondering - Am I the only one who finds Aldi to be extremely depressing and gloomy? It has a cold, soul-less atmosphere. Granted I've only been to 2 different Aldi stores here but that's the vibe I get.

I once saw a good description of it that resonates with me. It feels like the movie set for a supermarket - it looks like a supermarket as you walk around and you can see alot of products that you recognise like cereals, only to look up close and realise that they're imitations and lookalikes

$10.99 / kg is the regular price for Rump Steak at my local Aldi (assume the same everywhere?).

Cant go wrong with a 500g steak for $5.50!

Coles> everything.
Aldi's food and stuff is old and have heard they have put dodgy use by dates on a lot of there stock.
Stick to Australian chains , there is also another German supermarket about to hit our shores soon.

My family once had Weevils in the muesli bars from Aldi. My dad and brother ate them before realising. Aldi did nothing apart from refund the few dollars and give my mum some flowers. Lucky we didn't go all A Current Affair on their asses.
