When he broke the record for most Shield dismissals in a season there wasn't a single missed chance recorded for the whole season. Pretty amazing stuff. A far cry from what he's dished up in the World Cup.

I'm hoping it's just a temporary form blip but he's got in poor positions standing back a couple of times which is worrying. Not ready to react to a deviation.
Where are missed chances recorded for this record to exist?

Batting lights out but that one has just about cost us the WC. What did Faf and Van der Dussen put on after that. Now we have to play England instead of NZ.

Maxwell and Stoinis being utter crap is the problem, and has been all world cup, not Carey.

Look at the Victorians on here looking for any excuse to have a go at him. ******* pathetic.
Wade would've failed with bat and glove as per usual thus far and criticism for his s**t keeping which was constant and over a more prolonged period than Carey was completely justified.

Maxwell and Stoinis have been the problem with this team. Not a keeper who has been our second best batsman!

What do you expect? They still complain about Hodge. They've been oddly quiet about Maxwell lately though 😉

It's like the old philosophical conundrum: if a Victorian isn't complaining about selection even if no one wants to hear it, is it a cricket game?

Makes you wonder in the not to distance future whether Carey could be selected as a batsman only and some one else keeps.Very impressed with his batting but concerned about his keeping but lets him give him time and hope he can improve his keeping.

Back him to improve his keeping. Josh Phillipe is the one that could make it as a bat only.

Between Head and Carey, Inshallah the next Test captain will South Australian.

Head maybe. Not sure long term you’d ideally want a keeper being test captain. It’s a lot of work.

Carey will be captain at the next world cup. Bookmark it. Tough, adaptable, talented bat. He's been the highlight this tournament for us. Start building now for our next world cup. Get some young talent in and let them find their feet. Carey surely plays some role in the Ashes now..

Loved what he did for us, finding it hard to forgive getting caught on the boundary with 20 overs remaining though with not much batting left, was an absolute brain fart, but, he's well and truly in my 11 in all formats.

Hopefully he does a lot of work on his keeping so he can take over in 12-18 months in the tests, he missed about 6 chances on dead tracks this wc though so the idea he would be the keeper in the ashes where the ball will be swinging all over is laughable.
