They couldn’t score goals and gave him no opportunities....
Couldn’t understand.

It’s sad because he had this stigma rightly or wrongly about “forward pressure” that never gave him much hope.
Reputation is hard to shake, his pressure was much improved in the VFL especially when given time in the midfield in the back half of the year.

His best footy was very good, just couldn’t get a clean run or consistency.

Had so much ability not sure what he did off the track professional wise, seemed like a wasted talent obviously injuries need to be included.

He had one year out of defence and it's the only year he ever looked properly fit

I wouldn’t say it was that poor. But hey, who knows the reasons.

Only saw him in the game against us in the Marvel curtain raiser and I thought he was among their best.

Good luck to him in whatever comes next.

His form this year was poor, kicking only 15 goals from 15 games. Last year it was ok, kicking 24 goals from 12 games. Given his form last year wasn't too bad, I reckon he probably just thought he fell out of favour due to Bucks opting for more speed in the forward line, and was probably keen to go on and probably thought a fresh start with a different forward line setup would suit him better. So I don't think he would've retired last year (well, unless his form was this bad last year).

From the few VFL games I saw on TV at he played he didn't look deserving of a game. Carlton need a small forward that can kick goals but they still didn't pick him. I suspect he wasn't 100% mentally committed because on ability he should be very good at that level. No surprise he's called it quits. Bit of a wasted talent in the end.

All the best to Fas, and thank him for his service to the Pies. Always had exceptional ability and talent, just never on a consistent basis. I remember his 2016 season, when he was on fire, kicking 4 goals on Anzac day, 5 against the Tigers. I think he had 20+ goals in about 10 games, before injury hit, and then it was downhill from there. Hope he enjoys retirement. Maybe come back to the Pies VFL team!

LOL we’re top four playing at the MCG against a beatable opponent but we’re talking about Carlton players. WTF?

Sorry if you can’t multitask but fas is a Collingwood player now he has retired and is entirely worthy of a thread
