Aliens exist somewhere out there in the vastness of the universe, they just haven't been here and probably never will. The travelling distances in space are absolutely mind boggling, a creature that has somehow achieved interstellar travel would have to be thousands and thousands of times more advanced as us.. That's why I find stories from bumpkins so funny when they claim to be 'abducted' and make up some cheesy story about being examined with some simple human like metal instruments.

The Anal Probe is a device wickedly simple in its construction, and was proven to be adaptable away from its original purpose as a toothbrush when the aliens figured out that humans actually eat with their mouths...

But your position seems based on flawed assumptions. Aliens that have traveled far interstellar distances make up only one scenario for earth visitors. The aliens could have originated on earth, from a different dimension, from a different universe, from a nearby as opposed to distant solar system.

We abduct insects to study, just like an alien species might have abducted humans to study. Sure it's unlikely or unproven, however, not irrational.

But because of how old the universe is the Aliens should systematically explored the entire universe by now

I personally believe "shortcutting" space travel is one of those things we are destined never to do as space travellers, because I don't think we could survive it. You're changing laws of physics we depend on simply to stay alive, never mind our body matter staying intact. We would have to send probes if we ever did manage to work out the science. If any life form could do it, it would have to be one already living within such dimensions...that very interesting Doctor Who episode last week (the two dimensional beings trying to make their way into 3D) just sounds too unlikely...probably even more preposterous than Professor Frinks "re-bigulator"...

Otherwise, life "as we know it" will only be able to make contact if it's prepared to handle millennia-long space travel (with the inherent hazards belonging to that), or sends out mechanical devices...

If the universe is expanding as suggested, and this expansion had zillions of lightyears head start over the universe's first conception of life and its subsequent evolution into at least one species capable of exploring it, then that's still an awful lot of universe to be traversing...

Robots could be created to head out and exponentially reproduce and spread. So while perhaps one civilization couldn't explore the whole universe if life starts at many or infinitely different points it should be a good chance of earth getting at least cataloged by another race

This was 1947, they were training in Nebraska jet fighter pilots then. They had a fair few ME 262's.In fact, the americans had first used jet fighters in 44. Prop planes were slow, far from being the fastest airplane at the time.

Maybe he meant at the air base where the pilot took off from? The Brits also had the Gloster before the end of WW2.
