No. Sydney have salary cap issues mainly due to Buddy Franklin's 9 year - $10.2mil deal that runs for 2014-22 seasons. So they need cap relief.

It was heavily backend. First 2 years were $700k each and the last 4 years are;
2019 $1.3m, 2020 $1.4m, 2021 $1.5m and 2022 $1.0m

Before Covid adjustments, the original $1.5m is about 11% of the original 2021 Salary cap total + Additional Services Agreements total - both amounts have a floor of at least 95% have to be paid to the players.

Hopefully, now McKenzie gets a break from tall forwards and can take on a role on a smaller opponent. His intercept marking could go to a new level on a smaller opponent.

Doubling down on the intercept and rebound model of defense. He's tall but he's not gonna be out-bodying Hawkins. So we'll again spend half of 2021 bemoaning the various KPDs we've shipped to St Kilda down the years whenever a tall cracks 2 goals on us.
