i find it hard to believe that there would be any competition given he wasn't even rookied in his draft year of 2003.

tiges couldn't find a better character for a club, neville has captained at every level through juniors and his dedication to footy has been shown out by some solid years in the VFL.

but lets be honest tiger fans, no draft is that shallow that a 22 year old will get picked anywhere other than the rookie draft.

Mark McGough to St.Kilda a couple of years back at pick 49ish.

And he's not even half decent...

to be safe I reckon he'd need to be picked by R3 otherwise goodbye...at 21 there will be plenty of interest

I think you are right. Problem will be that our round 3 pick will be early (34-35). I think his BOG in the Vic-WA state game will be the key. WA and SA clubs are happy to draft 21-22 year old state league players because they still rate that level of footy. I would not be at all suprised to see him taken by Freo or WCE on the back of that showing.

As for Richmond being 'blind' to him. That's not really true. He had a preseason at St Kilda last year and they overlooked him. We set him the challenge of winning more hard-ball, running more, kicking some goals, and useing the footy better. It is the fact that he has made those improvements that puts him into calculations. Last year he divided his time between HBF and midfield and needed to add more to his game.

Hopefully he gets rewarded for his hard work. If he doesn't he really should go to the SANFL or WAFL.

As for Silvester? I'd say his is too slow and lumbering. More a Ben Holland type man-mountain than an AFL defender.

It won't happen but I'd love Joe Gazzo to get a chance. He is better than Krakouer and Meyer. Gazzo chases, tackles, harrases, bumps and pressures forwards with his pace and workrate. He creates goals for himself and others by forcing turnovers. He is also quick and gets goals with a tidy left footy. Sure he is a mighty midget but with quite a few clubs going for small forwards to apply pressure .... won't happen though.

I think alistair should be given an opportunity he'd be the answer to our midfield woes because he can get the pill even though he's not quick but then again either was diesal williams.:thumbsu:
