This is the one thing that I have been pondering.

Why the hell didn't this guy come out months ago? It's not like he named anyone at ASADA and thus couldn't do so till now.

This is very strange. Could have saved me countless hours on Big Footy!!!!!

seems orchestrated to me!! Question is by who and what does that say about the integrity of the situation, conflicts of interest, and potential corruption

S2 is peptides hormones
The banned ones are named
The non banned ones are not banned
AOD 9604 falls into this category and as it is not mentioned it is not banned

No substance can fall under two categories so either it belong s in s2 or it does not
If it does it is fine
If it does not the it is S0

But the good afl doctor said all this but it does not cut for some

So we will have to wait for the president with ADD to calm everyone down

In urgent need of an explanation from ASADA that contains no weasel words. Essendon deserves one, and so do the rest of us. WTF is going on here? How can this level of mass confusion exist, this deep into the investigation?

Having observed the well oiled machine that is the AFL working hand in hand with a government organisation. I really don't know what else we should have expected. In hindsight, we should be thankful they've gotten this far.

The paradox strikes again. Knowing who was involved, we shouldn't be disappointed, but yet we still are.

He did tell Essendon about this at the very start - while he was working for the AFL and before he was an Essendon consultant on the matter. Everyone has known this for a long time but the Dons have been gagged - I anticipate drowning in a swamp of "Th3Y CoULD SpEKK IF tHY WaNT3D 2" from the usual suspects for writing that, but from the evidence at hand, it looks like no, they really couldn't.

Essendon knew, the AFL knew and ASADA knew. If you are wondering why Essendon didn't open with this from the start, well then stop and think of possible reasons why they wouldn't.
ASADA are the only ones that could not speak. Everybody else were free to talk to media about their interviews if they so chose to. Essendon have been saying an awful lot for people gagged. And the one thing they could have said that would have stopped this debacle, they chose not to reveal. They are so clever it's scary. That showed us!

ASADA stuffed up as per BSE the advice should have that it was banned under S2 as it has similar properties to hGH.

ASADA can't recommend infractions for something it approved.

Players can now sue ASADA if WADA takes action.

AOD is a mess but a distraction from the main game.

What an absolute farce.

I have been a heavy critic of Essendon for what has taken place. And I will continue that stance. For me, it has not been about the performance enhancing abilities of the substances that were administered.

However, from what I have read and seen tonight, there is no way that Essendon can be sanctioned on the use of AOD.

In the instance of AOD, an employee of ASADA has stuffed up big time and must pay for his/her incompetence.

The afl and wada would be rightfully furious. For the sake of this season and the next, this saga must be brought to a conclusion as soon as possible.

Essendon must still be brought to account on a number of issues and that includes the 4 people charged for bringing the game into disrepute. They still have a lot to answer for.

The afl must release the full charges and Essendon must come clean on everything - including the release of the full internal investigation undertaken by Switkowski. Hird must come forward and divulge everything as he said he would. And Dank must be forced to talk now that ASADA have the powers to do so.

If not, the afl can kiss goodbye supporters, for this issue is tearing the loyalty and passion out of our game.

to me this is the biggest BS statement of all in terms of relevance.

they seems to be 2 separate tests so any substance has to pass through both tests even if they are separate so in terms of the process they are related

I what is your problem, there was afl doctor on 360tonight stated that is what WADA and ASADA confirmed : not prohibited

Yes the doctor has been sent down to Essendon by the afl to placate the parents and family of players who are concerned

Unbelievable! You rabbit on and on about nonsense
You want some reassurance form WADA and ASADA as if Essendon were lance Armstrong

Really get a grip

you in love with essendon hombre? what's the deal?

i cant wait until they get crushed.

You are acting like tonight is enlightening new news.

It isn't.

EFC have been using this argument since the beginning.

All tonight was, was paid EFC consultant Andrew Garnhan putting a face to the theory to an over excited Whately.
Who was at the time an AFL Anti-Doping Juror amongst other things, but please, carry on.....

Everyone saying "yeah but where's the evidence, if Essendon had it they would have come out with it", ask yourself why they didn't come out with at least tonight's information from the start? Even if they had nothing else, this is a pretty significant thing to hang on to for 7 months, no? Indicates that there are reasons for hanging onto these things while the investigation is going on.
I'm still struggling to see what's tonight's "new" information. We knew ASADA/WADA's claim that AOD-9604 was prohibited since 2011. We knew that EFC was going to challenge that legally. We knew that before today. The only thing we learnt today is a legal strategy that EFC is likely to adopt apropos AOD-9604 - that it'll be something along the lines suggested by Barkly Street End.
