3 and 8 is bloody disgraceful, how on earth can the captain of the decade have a 27% win record (should be 18%) in finals. All those hawthorn chokes (and almost chokes), losing to North and expecting to win vs Freo. Selwood is a fierce competitor but also a sore loser ala when he refused to shake Pendleburys hand when Pendles took him to the cleaners.
he did not refuse to shake Pendleburys hand. And they didn't play directly on eachother

Please, if your going to use that argument then concede its the Kardina Park advantage not other teams shitting themselves.

Geelong from 2007 to 2017.

2007 = 18 wins - 13 / 2 away from home - 5 / 2 at Kardinia - premiers
2008 = 21 wins - 13 / 1 away from home - 8 / 0 at Kardinia - runners-up
2009 = 18 wins - 10 / 4 away from home - 8 / 0 at Kardinia - premiers
2010 = 17 wins - 10 / 5 away from home - 7 / 0 at Kardinia - 3rd
2011 = 19 wins - 13 / 2 away from home - 6 / 1 at Kardinia - premiers
2012 = 15 wins - 8 / 7 away from home - 7 / 0 at Kardinia - 7th
2013 = 18 wins - 11 / 4 away from home - 7 / 0 at Kardinia - 3rd
2014 = 17 wins - 10 / 5 away from home - 7/ 0 at Kardinia - 5th
2015 = 11 wins and a draw - 6.5 / 6 away from home - 5 / 3 at Kardinia - 10th
2016 = 17 wins - 10 / 4 away from home - 7 / 1 at Kardinia - 3rd
2017 = 15 wins - 9.5 / 5 away from home - 6/ 1 at Kardinia - 3rd

The individual figures don't quite tally with the combined number but you get the drift of the post.

242 games, 186 wins and 2 draws in the h&a. Around a 77% win record.

108 wins, 2 draws and 45 losses away from home. Around a 70% win record.

73 wins and 8 losses at home. Around a 90% win record.

Adelaide's record at Adelaide Oval is 52 games, 37 wins and 15 losses for a win record of 71%.

Historically, Adelaide have beaten Geelong 70% of the time at home. They have beaten Geelong 15% of the time away.

Historically, Geelong have beaten Adelaide 85% of the time at home. They have beaten Adelaide 30% of the time away.

In the last 11 seasons, Geelong have finished in the top 3, 8 times, missed the finals once.

Adelaide in the same period have finished top 3, 2 times, missed finals 4 times and basically finished in the bottom half of the 8 the rest of the time.

Perhaps Geelong has just been better than their opponents that they've had to face at Kardinia in that time period. With the exception of Sydney who have probably inflicted half of those 8 losses at Kardinia, by and large most of Geelong's opponents haven't been much chop. Fremantle had a brief period there. They won a h&a clash and of course the final.

Geelong's typical opponents at Kardinia are :

Adelaide
Brisbane
Fremantle
Gold Coast
GWS
Port
Sydney
WCE

Home games against North, Melbourne, Richmond, Footscray and St Kilda seem to rotate between Kardinia and the MCG / Etihad. I wouldn't expect Richmond to be in that group anymore. Have been replaced this season by Carlton.

Kardinia Park opponents this season are :

St Kilda (win)
Sydney
GWS
Carlton
North
Melbourne
Brisbane
Fremantle
Gold Coast

Potentially another 7 win season at home, they could conceivably win all of them. I don't see why so many people are down on Geelong having their own home ground. Adelaide and Port and WCE and Freo do, they play 11 to 12 games each, each season at this ground. I wish Geelong had that many at Kardinia. The 9 games this season are the most there in a long, long time.
