Hill definitely stiff. Should've at least made the 40. Had the superior season then Gaff I thought

I know we can't not sound salty about Gaff, but he was a liability for his first 5 or so games and missed two. Even his best is well down on last year. Shocking call. Billy is one of many who can be disappointed that the selection panel seemingly aren't required to watch games.

Fyfe for sure makes the final squad, good to see Walters in the 40 and Hill a little stiff but was far far from a certainty. Personally think Mitch Duncan was hardest done by, had a great season.

I reckon they'll pick a goal kicking mid like Dangerfield or Kelly on one HFF and Ablett on the other, might be able to fit in on the bench...

Pretty much. Selection should only be considered in the vacuum of that particular season, yet we all know past credits, media hype and profile, recency bias, aesthetics over output, sexy narratives etc undermine the integrity of the award every year.

Yet despite all that I'll be livid if Walters doesn't make it

KB is on the selection panel, he has said on radio that he avoids watching Fremantle games whenever possible. That’s the sort of professionalism we’re dealing with.
So what Freo players make it basically comes down to Glen Jakovich’s opinion and how hard he pushes for them.

Walters averaging 21 disposals (quality ones) and kicked 40 goals. That's outstanding however you phrase it and he won 3 games on the bounce pre-bye.
