Just thinking about who might be a shot at All Australian this year for us.

Fyfe will be starting centreman surely.

Who else? Neale has been very good and if we hold our form might have a shot. Michael Johnson has once again been sensational. Ibbo excellent too.

Thoughts?

Chances for the extended squad - Fyfe, Ibbo, Johnson, Mundy, Neale and Sandilands. Of those perhaps Fyfe and Johnson will make it into the final side.

If Andrew Mackie could make it then Ibbo is a certainty, as he was in 2013 before injury.
Fyfe, Ibbo, Johnson and Sandi with perhaps Stephen Hill on a wing.

Hopefully. But the AA selection committee don't always pick players by position, sometimes they squeeze one of their favourite star players in odd positions. Right now my AA HB line would be Johnson, Ibbo and McGovern, but you never know what the committee will decide.

I'd have Hurley over MJ right now.

So, Hill could be forced out of the wing spot to NicNaitanui ?

McPharlin if he stays on the park is a smokey. Its a big if though.

I think the fact that he's missed two matches early doors won't mean much by the end of the season if his current form holds. McDonald from the dees had a shocker against Roughead. Pav comfortably beat Hurley who is also in contention. McGovern has been in terrific form but is yet to come up against the more potent key forwards. It's not out of the question that Luke emerges in the next couple of rounds.

What he said ^^

I was about to say: after 5 rounds we were all recognizing Elvis' form this year. Then he sits out 2 games and he is forgotten. What short memories we have!

I think it's more the expectation that he won't play enough games given we've already started to manage him. For first timers, Mundy is looking the goods this year. Reckon Neale is a year early.

I expect Sonny to come into consideration sooner or later too.

Neale is a decent chance I reckon. He'll probably end up on the bench at most. If we keep up our form we might see a heavily Dockers-dominated AA side like how it was with Geelong a few years ago. Fyfe obviously and perhaps Johnson and Mundy.

Fyfe a lock.

Mundy, MJ & Sandi a lock for the squad.

Neale, McPharlin, Ibbo a good chance.

Spurr, Clancee have their names thrown up.

We are definitely a weight of numbers, blue collar team that gives great effort.

At this stage with 8 games played this is how i see it:

Locks for the 22:
Nat Fyfe
Michael Johnson
David Mundy

In the 40 but not 22:
Aaron Sandilands
Garrick Ibbotson
Lachie Neale

Fyfe for sure.

Think the next most likely is Johnson.

Neale, Mundy and perhaps Hill in the mix with Hill the least likely.

Sandi probably will only get into the extended squad. Think a few have been in front of him atm and could fall over his own high standards as well. But who knows...

Not sure about defenders. Ibbotson perhaps, Spurr a smokey. McPharlin only in mix when he plays most games from now.

Well, could see this happen as well as only Fyfe making the team with around 5 in the extended squad like in 2013. Have quite a few in the mix, but all have some quality competition for spots as well. Season is still long to sort that out...

For all the KPD and rucks out there, I would not take a single one in a one-off game over McPharlin and Sandilands.

It's funny how every year they talk up a group of rucks like Jacobs, Goldstein, Mumford, Naitanui ... but when does Sandi ever actually lower his colours to these guys?

For AA, in order of most likely to least likely ... Fyfe, Mundy, Johnson, Ibbotson, Sandilands, Neale, McPharlin. Won't be any other possible selections.

Someone like Walters could come into consideration if he kicks a bunch of goals in the latter half of the season. Like I said earlier it's only round 9, a bit early to be deciding the team.
