How was I offended?
Just pointing out bias.
By pointing to players who don't play the same role?

Laird was good early but has missed matches, Smith has claimed some big scalps (including Rioli) and imo is current best small defender.
If you'd like to name some actual small defenders who I may have missed feel free to.
But naming HBF's who are already in most if not everyones side adds nothing.

I don't believe a stopper should be in, people mentioned Stratton earlier and I didn't agree with that either.
Rather Boyd or Wood type player.

Shuey is a lock, him and kennedy would be the only eagles players in my team though with Naitanui close.

FB: Smith - Talia - Morris
HB: Docherty - Rance - Shaw
C: Gibbs - Hannebery - Mongtana
HF: Reiwoldt - Franklin - Parker
FF: Betts - Kennedy - Tippett
R: Goldstein - Shuey - Dangerfield
INT: Martin - Treloar - Steven - Neale

Fasolo injured and out for a while means Betts is ahead of daylight as the AA small forward. Unlucky for Fasolo, in an improving team in the 2nd half of the year he had every chance to snare a spot imo.

Is Shuey a lock? Only locks if the team was picked now would be Franklin, Shaw, Dangerfield, Hannebery and Betts imo.

Sadly naming HBFs in back pockets is probably a fair stab at how the team will be named.

Its sad to think we have only one player who might be considered for AA. Dayne Zorko. And even then he is still a fair margin off making it.
We have had one in like 6 years, its not sad at all for a bottom team, also i wouldn't say Zorko os far away at all, would be in for me at the moment.

Not a lock as of yet. Been our best midfielder this year for sure but that's not enough, maybe needs to start winning a bit more ball, but if he keeps up his recent form he will be a lock.

Agreed with your five locks.

No, Shuey is not a lock. Fair call on those mentioned, though not sure I'd have Betts as a lock. He'd definitely be first picked as a small forward at the moment, but Breust and Fasolo are only 4 and 5 goals respectively behind. Only takes one big week for one of those to jump him. Of course, you could also pick 2 of those 3.

Not really bias when Smith is regarded by most, not just Sydney fans, as one of the best if not the best in his role.
I don't think it was necessarily bias either, but I wouldn't have Smith in the team (or even the squad). He's been a very solid contributor all year and his last two weeks have been very good. But most teams would have half a dozen players of whom similar comments can be made, and there are only 22 spots available in the team. When people nominate three or so from their team who they think should be in the side (let alone the oft-claimed "locks") I think they lose sight of this. Of course it's possible for a team (even a team near the bottom of the ladder) to have this many players whose names are in the conversation, but there will likely be a similar number from most other clubs - often better performed teams - and they won't all fit!

Fasolo just broke his shoulder blade. Is out for ages. No chance he makes it now

*Insert Bias here*

I reckon Talia would be close to a lock. is beating all the KPF's he has come up against and is winning more of the ball than ever :)
