Yep no Danger, he's fallen off a cliff lately.
Hasn't Motlop had two absolute shitters in a row.
Sloanes in, tagged Ward last game carried the midfield most games. TBH it's just a toss up between him Parker Mitchell and Shuey.

Now this stat includes every player in the league so take it as what you will but to me this is the number 1 stat when it comes to key defenders in particular. Also includes players like Rance and Talia for those who have them in their side. Not bad when he's also the best intercepting key tall in the game and i would say is the best kick of any key defender in the league as well.

Jeremy McGovern is 19-1 from 31 one-on-ones. (61% win, 3% loss) Next-best of players with 20+ contests are 52%, 17%

McGovern has been great (again), but the list of the players he has beaten in the one on ones wasn't the strongest of opponents. The above isn't exactly a list of stars.

McGovern could well make it but I don't believe it should be at the expense of the players who are the best at stopping the Buddy's, Kennedy's, Lynch's, Cameron's and Waite's of the league. Would fit in nicely as a third tall option though.

He can do that because we have other players taking the deepest forward generally (Schofield took Lynch most of the day on the weekend). His intercepting is elite, and his kicking is as well for a tall defender, but for the key defensive posts (FB certainly) you'd want the best shut down defenders first up. Could end up at CHB or BP though.

Would have him at CHB in the team.

Not really bias when Smith is regarded by most, not just Sydney fans, as one of the best if not the best in his role.
Did you read my prior post?
If so you would have seen where I said I don't like lock down players in AA prefer the likes of Docherty and Shaw who I pointed out were the best small defenders in the comp.

How Bontempelli gets so consistently overrated in these player ratings baffles me.

Does anyone legitimately think Bontempelli has been the 8th best player in the league this year? Spare me
How about you watch him play he is a ******* freak. Probs not 8th best but definitely in my top 20 this season he is absolutely elite, stop watching him as potential and start watching what he is currently producing week to week with your eyes not stats

I do watch him every week. And all i said was he was overrated and not the 8th best player (which you agree with)

Hasn't been elite this year and definitely not top 20, let alone 8th. If you won't take our word for it how about Bulldogs supporters? Only managed votes in 3 out of 10 games on the Doggies board, but hey what would they know.

He started the year slow due to having post season hip surgery and not starting pre season until January. But he's been our best player the past month. Have a look at the coaches votes. And he's still running at about 75%. He will get even better as the season progresses.

And? The coaches votes reflect exactly what I said, he's only polled in three of ten games. Yes he might still be recovering, but currently he's not elite nor in the top 20.

AFL Player ratings after round 10

Cannot comment on other teams, but Boak and Westhoff our best tells me this is a dubious measure. Boak was borderline droppable until probably the last week or 2. Our best player has been Pittard by a mile.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just telling you that he's had all his votes in the last month due to a slow start. I must of misread your first comment, I thought you were asking a Bulldogs supporters opinion. I apologise.

All good. If he continues to come home with a wet sail then things will certainly change. :thumbsu:

Bont's form has been patchy. Started slow, picked up, then was horrible last week (but wasn't alone). His best games this year have been very good but yeah, by the eye test, certainly not top 20 on the year. Shouldn't even be in the squad at this point for mine.

Brad Sheppard? Gun defender imo. He is so good defensively, he locks down so many small/medium forwards and can even play on key forwards if he is called upon.

On another measure Robbie Gray is actually rated as your best player. He just hasn't played as many games to accumulate as much points but his per game average is high.

And Pittard made their team of the year after round 9 (but was knocked out after rd 10)
