Before I was just a little annoyed that Jones couldn't crack the 40 and that 17 clubs had players in the 40 and 1 club misses out. Now I'm actually annoyed though having seen these stats:

Ranked 1st in Total Effective Disposals
Ranked 2nd in Total Disposals
Ranked 3rd in Total Clearances
Ranked 14th in Total Kicks
Ranked 8th in Total Handballs
Ranked 15th in Total Tackles
Ranked 9th in Total Supercoach Score
Ranked 10th in Total AFL Fantasy Score
Ranked 14th in Total Contested Possessions
Ranked 14th in Total Uncontested Possessions

Sure reads like enough to be in the top 15-20 midfielders who made the squad.

Goldstein has been rucking solo for years and in a team that finished equal on wins with Port Adelaide. If they go Sandi fair enough but Goldy has paid his dues (bafflingly being beaten by Minson last year) and beating he, Jacobs, Mumford and playing very well against the cats in the last weeks. Instrumental in our wins against the top 4 early in the year and the main instigator late in games when we got over these sides. Hitting the scoreboard more of late I just thought he and Harvey would be the obvious ones with our improvement this year. The rest of the side has evened up to get us to 14 wins but these 2 have been standouts IMO
Didnt currie and daw play a couple of games hows is that "solo"

yes the 5-10% at best chop out he has got over the years has really helped, not. He is a getting better every year and after being in the squad last year it seemed a given he would make it again. Jacobs brings no more to the table than Goldy IMO

Heard this before. Going to trust Champion Data figures, gathered by professional statisticians and a source which clubs use, over observations of supporters.
Fair enough. Thanks for the snark, btw. Wasn't having a go at you, just asking a bloody question.

The All Australian selection panel is Gillon McLachlan (chairman), Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Mark Evans, Danny Frawley, Glen Jakovich, Cameron Ling, Matthew Richardson and Warren Tredrea.
Looking at the selection panel it's hard to understand how anyone places significant waiting on AA.

He didn't end our season, we ended our own season by giving up a 34-point lead to Essendon. Rance won't make the team.
No, had you beaten Richmond, you would be playing finals. But you lost, at home, and have since then been sulking about and being bitter.
I'd say he is very likely for the final team. Again, care to wager?

People underrating Ellis season doesn't surprise me given he's a young kid with not much of a reputation yet but he had the most AFLCA votes for Richmond above Martin, etc for a reason. Think he might've even finished top 15. He won't make the final team anyways so stop your tears.

It will be ridiculous if someone who's played 20+ games gets relegated to the bench while Ablett is named in the starting line up.

Not that the line up rubs out anywhere, or anything like that, but it would not make sense.

I'm waiting for it though.
Fyfe is pretty much a walk-up start as an on-baller in everyone's team. Ablett has basically smashed him in every relevant stat, besides marks.
