I agree. I don't think Goldy will poll as well as many are predicting however, I think he'll do better relatively speaking than ruckmen in the past if only because the umpires will have been sucked in a little by the media-hype and we don't have one outstanding midfielder (although Swallow has tended to poll well). What is Cox's highest tally out of interest?

I never understand why we get into arguments about who is a FF or CHF. Just pick the best key forwards and slot them in. Basically the same position these days.

Feels like a poor year for the key forwards other than Kennedy. I can't see more than two in the team.

Updated Forward line

HF: R.Gray J.Riewoldt P.Dangerfield
F: C.Wingard J.Kennedy J.Stringer

Out: Betts
In: Stringer
LOL Robbie Gray?
Pull the other one champ.
Wingard HFF, either Betts or Rioli forward pocket.

Dont be silly now.

No Jack Riewoldt either.

Gray would be getting picked as a midfielder who goes forward, which happens basically every year. He's leading the league in centre clearances and is averaging over a goal a game, so is an obvious choice there and is named there in every 2nd team posted in this thread.

Dangerfield will get picked on the ball, not in the forward line.

Yes Daniel Talia in 2012 I think. Possibly Buckley in 1993 when He was at Brisbane. Midfielder spots are hotly contested. Cripps might make it on the bench.
Talia didn't even make the squad, let alone the team, in 2012. The only time he has made either is last year.

Gray wont make the team I don't think. Too many good mids and I don't think they can slip him in on a HFF this year, especially given Wingard's pretty much wrapped one of them up.

He had a much better season last year IMO.

I don't see too much different in those stats. If danger is as big a lock as everyone is saying then I don't see why Robbie won't be. Apart from goals kicked his season this year has been just as good if not better than last year.

Robbie Gray has to be there IMO. At least on the bench. He and Wingard have both been great this year.

Off hand, here's my first go at the side so have at it:

B: Heath Shaw, Alex Rance, Easton Wood
HB: Sam Mitchell, Michael Hurley, Rob Murphy
C: Andrew Gaff, Patrick Dangerfield, Dan Hannebery
HF: Chad Wingard, Taylor Walker, Robbie Gray
F: Cyril Rioli, Josh Kennedy, Eddie Betts
R: Todd Goldstein, Nat Fyfe, Scott Pendlebury

I/C: Matt Priddis, Nic Naitanui, Luke Hodge, Josh Kennedy

Next closest ten in no particular order: Aaron Sandilands, Dane Swan, David Mundy, Daniel Talia, Jeremy Cameron, Jake Stringer, Dustin Martin, Jack Riewoldt, Lachie Neale, David Armitage

I'm not sure Danger is a lock either.
He will poll well in the brownlow regardless, just because he polls well.

Fyfe is the only midfield lock IMO.
Oh and Goldstein if you count rucks.

Sandi was BOG yesterday, dominated Goldstein.

Maybe add - "IMO"

Goldy's last quarter was huge. Blew Sandi up and was involved in most of our goals and kicked 2 himself.

IMO - I would prefer the match winning ruckmen to the hitout winning ruckmen. 4 points is worth more than more taps.

Thought Laird might appear in your next closest... he's been outstanding

Sandi had as many touches and also kicked 2 goals.
not his fault his team stopped to a walk in the 2nd half... he was the better ruckman on the day.

IMO robbie gray is the best player in AFL after ablett and fyfe. if gray doesn't make the team it shows the selectors have no idea.

Champion Data pegs Gray as one of the best Mids
