Ibbotson and Burgoyne the big headscratchers, there's a few every year and generally one makes the 22. Not sure about McGovern, I reckon if you play under 19 games you should have to stand out over the competitors, think Talia is stiff.

The Lewis selection is proof that selectors covet raw stats over games. Even Burgoyne has cruised through the last three months after a great start. Midfielders that have been better off the top of my head - Cotchin, Bontempelli, Hodge, Shiels, I Smith, Thompson, Hartlett, Vince.
Lewis is been solid nowhere near AA.
Based on recent form, Burgoyne should be retiring. Aside from a couple of clutch goals (WC), he has been hardly noticable. Not in our best 15 this season.
Hodge much better than either.
Mitchell had a slow start to the season but should make the team.

I know Hodge missed 5 games but he has had a brilliant year. How Lewis and Burgoyne were picked ahead of him from a Hawthorn perspective I have no idea.

Sandi haha ridiculous

Also Cotchin a bit stiff

McGovern wont make the final team. I think his intercept marking is what got him into the squad. Was one of the highest ranked for that.

Ibbotson has had his best year. Been our best defender over all I'd say

Good to see Dahlhaus recognised for a fantastic year (a fantastic two years, really).

Probably won't make the final team, but very deserving. Has stepped up big time.

Do the selectors still think Luke Dahlhaus is a small forward or something? He's ppayed 80% midfield/high half forward wing role. He's a had a good year no doubt but surely theres more than 20 players in his role more deserving? Bontempelli from my own club for starters.

Darcy probably got him in there.

This, I think you've nailed it. He has rarely played as a forward in 2015, almost exclusively as a mid. Good year for Dahl, but not AA standard in my view.

As usual the squad is compromised by trying to shoehorn in a certain number of playera from top sides.

Just at a glance no way Hill, Mundy, Dahlhaus or Lewis had better years than Armitage.

Bont doesn't even make the squad wtf? I see about 5 players at least I'd swap out for him. One of them is definitely Luke Dahlhaus.

None
Well apart from goals and assists which are similar
The rest

kicks, HB, I50, CO, UP, ED%, CM, MI50, time on ground, Clearances, rebound 50 ect ect take your pick

It is a disgrace another AFL handout specific to Cyril if he gets into this AA team ahead of Lids. Even if lids has played 3 less games.

Only Mundy and Lewis are similar players out of those you mentioned and both deserve to be in the squad. Armitage is a crap omission though no doubt.
