No way Nic nat has been better over the entire year than Sandi and Goldy. Sandi didn't even make your unlucky list!!

My bad, forgot about armitage, definitely holds a claim to a best 22 though.

Yeah nah sorry but getting a billion hitouts doesn't make sandilands or goldstein a better ruckman than naitanui, Naitanui wins a higher % of taps, he produces a significantly higher taps to advantage % than either, he kicks far more goals than either of them. There's a reason he's ranked 3rd overall this year in champion data player ratings behind only fyfe and pendlebury, no other ruckman is as versatile.

I didn't put sandy in as unlucky because there was already another ruckman (goldstein), who i thought was more deserving, but it's close between the 2 of them.

A 19 year old kid who destroyed Rance...
Jesse Hogan didn't destroy Rance. The commentators hyped him up fierce in that game because he was a kid playing his 4th game of footy up against the best man-on-man defender in the comp. He did a few good things that night. Great play from the kid and not much more Rance could've done about it.

Hogan:
Rnd 4 v Rich - 13 disposals, 6 marks (3 contested), Kicked 2.1
Rnd 14 v Ess - 13 disposals, 6 marks (3 contested), Kicked 1.0

Rance has been dominating his opponents most weeks and conceding about 2 goals a game.
Hurley has been good, but has been conceding 3 or 4 every week

Name the 14 players who have kicked 3 or 4 on Hurley this year

So by every week, you mean twice out of 14 games?

Why does he have it though? Because he got 70 taps against some no name rookie? Naitanui is the best tap ruckman in the game, he kicks more goals than any ruckman in the game. In current form, Naitanui is more deserving than goldstein.

Naitanui produces a significantly higher taps to advantage percentage does he? No. He produces 2% more, while averaging less disposals, marks, tackles and significantly less hitouts, not to mention having a disposal efficiency of 63% compared to Goldsteins' 73% and the fact that Goldstein actually holds the all-time record for both hitouts and hitouts to advantage in a game.

Nice try on dusting off that "Naitanui is sooooo much more efficient in the ruck" chestnut though.

I think you mean the AFL Player Rater which had Josh Hill in their team of the year a couple of weeks ago so obviously is a flawed system.

If you're talking champion data Goldy avgs 119 to NicNat 101. I think NicNat is 3rd behind Goldy & 211, but definitely in the mix.

3 contested marks, 2 goals, 4 marks inside 50 and 2 GA. That's an excellent game.
Hes a huge talent dont get me wrong. But his game is talked up because he was young and Rance is not often beaten in a contest. The idea that he absolutely killed him is rubbish, he was good and he won the battle though.

It isn't because when you have those sorts of stats on a wet day as a KPF you've clearly had the better of your opponent.

That graph and your comment make no sense to me.
Regardless, like every other stat not all HOs to advantage are equal.
