Quote me if I'm wrong but isn't there only one player averaging over 20 and 2 this year?
I've never been a fan of Wingard before but he's the best of the small forwards at this stage for me.
Most people putting in Betts but he's struggled against good sides, I have him probably 4th in small forwards.

Obviously I dont see every game but statisically Lewis is having a stellar year. Very under rated player imo.

I put McDonald in because until the ASADA/WADA/CAS deal comes back totally clear the Essendon players have a question mark next to their names.

Hurley obviously the better player but the advantages of the 2012 season still linger. Would he be where he is if he had missed the last 2 uears through PED suspension? A debate for a different thread, but that is my reasoning.
Wow. This reaches all new heights of stupidity. You should be proud of yourself.

For all the talk of Lecras in the AA squad - personally I'd have Jamie Cripps ahead of him in a forward pocket

I wouldn't have thought there'd be a forward pocket applying more defensive pressure than Cripps this year - in addition to contributing equivalent goals/goal assist numbers to the likes of Walters, Rioli, LeCras

The AA side usually overlooks that side of the game for their forwards - but Cripps has been outstanding.

If you were assessing pure offence - he is behind all of those blokes (plus wingard, Betts etc)

Could Ablett still make the squad or even the team? If he plays the rest of the year he'll end on 12 games. Last year he made the team playing only 15 games and since he's been back his form has been just as good as last year. He's obviously still the best player in the comp so what do people think?

First two games were mediocre, which leaves him with a maximum of ten good/great ones. No chance.

Not from 12 games total I don't think.

Rance, Riewoldt, Martin, Cotchin and now Lids are probably our contenders. Ellis borderline to make the 40.

Deledio has been outstanding since he came back from that 4 week block when he was out injured/suspended.

If they keep up the good form, the HF line could well look like this:

Martin - Riewoldt - Deledio
Rance - Yep
Riewoldt - Can only assess end of year
Martin - Not playing anywhere near what he's capable of consistently enough
Cotchin - Not damaging enough for 4 quarters
Deledio - Missed too many games
Ellis - Not even close

(IMO)

Zach Merrett would be up there, and our borderline top 4 VFL side would also.
Also, the "not guilty" verdict and Joe the Goose kicking the occasional bag :D

Hurley has been great. I can't understand why it took the Bombers so long to play him in his natural position.
He was never really cut out to be a key forward.

Coaches think they are going OK, Cotch is =8th and Martin is =12th in the awards.
Yeah but they're a measure of the game, not a measure of the player against the rest of the competition over the year
I think Cotch and Martin have both been acceptable, but neither has been dominant enough over the year for me to think they'll make the AA squad, they're borderline top 40 for mine

Betts had a good month that stuck in everyone's minds but he's fallen back since then. Still a good year but not AA-worthy I would've thought.

We cheered pretty loud when Hooker snapped an inside out barrell goal in round 2 ;)
I still can't believe that game - Essendon looking like a Top 4 team the first half and then the final 2 minutes... Zaharakis, Colyer's dash, Hooker's mongrel kick, the finish with Breust's running into the open goal as the siren sounded. I watched the replay twice. Everything about that game was just WHAT. THE. F**K.
