Does anyone have Luke Hodge stats ? AA captain imo. Has been brilliant this year just like last year but apparently there are more impactful players going around this year.

28 disposals, 6.5 marks, 4 tackles and nearly a goal a game.
The only thing going against him is he missed 3 weeks, but he and Mitchell arguably having career best seasons.

Easily Hodge's best season since 2010.

Should absolutely be AA captain.

I've never been a fan of Wingard before but he's the best of the small forwards at this stage for me.
Most people putting in Betts but he's struggled against good sides, I have him probably 4th in small forwards.
Not really having a go, but it annoys me that Wingard doesn't really get his due. He has developed this rep as being a downhill skier, but he does so much more than kick goals. All you have to do is go to AFL.com and look at the top goal kickers, and what else they contribute. He is miles ahead of any other small forward. He was heavily criticised during that 7 week run of losses last year, when he had a lean run. The thing was, he played midfield once and got 30 touches, played well and kick goals in one, and got knocked out before half time in another, but all we heard was 'Wingard has done nothing for 7 weeks'. Pretty much the same thing happened this year when he was low on goals at the start of the year, but had played a bit in the midfield and had given off heaps of goals unselfishly(was BOG in the 1st quarter when Port tore Hawthorn a new one). It just smacks of people not watching the games, not checking the stats, and then looking at the goal tally and thinking they know something. He would be hands down the best small forward of the last 3 years (his 2nd-4th seasons) which is pretty spectacular for a 21 year old and yet people were still saying about 3 weeks ago when he was starting to turn up in AA calculations that he was average and inconsistent.

Wingard is easily the AA small forward at this stage.

Betts, Bruest and Walters are his main competitors, but have all have had very lean patches this year. The other is Cyril, but probably hasn't kicked enough goals.

If Cyril had the year Wingard has had we would never hear the end of it. Would be a lock for the brownlow plus AA

Agreed, although Bruest has really picked up from last years form and is in the picture. Walters would need a few more 3 or 4 goal games to get in from here.
Breust and Walters have been fairly evenly matched to this point. However If I was picking the team for this year I'd pick Walters before Breust.

That's ok I thought this season with Robbie Gray they've been your only consistent players all year.
I actually thought it was a compliment saying he's been the best small forward this year.

He's now won me over but it has taken longer than others.

Wingard is an absolute lock. I hate Port Adelaide but he is having an Excellent season. Easily the best half forward in the competition.
I think a lot of people are reluctant to include him due to some sort of ill-feeling towards his perceived unjustified selection a couple years back. I would like to see he and Walters make the team. Can't be too dirty though if Betts get it ahead of them, hopefully they include two smalls again. Or better yet, three!

What are you talking about? In 2013 he was clearly AA and the general public and media all had him in their AA team... There was no perceived unjustified selection
