Lame news. Despite everything happening in the back Punk's stuff on TV had been consistently great to watch. Now with him gone I feel the direction of Collision is going to be alot closer to what Dynamite is so this is probably the end of AEW for me for now.

Danielson is in charge of Collision’s creative isn’t he? The feel should be the same.

Punk ****ed up, has anger problems and AEW will probably be better off, but the hate towards him from the IWC is disproportionate.

Merely a consequence of his fans putting the blame on everyone else despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

The overwhelming sentiment I've seen is simply 'good, about time, let's move on'.

Was mostly tongue in cheek, I'd fear for his safety.

Hope he isn't out for too long for a misguided comment. It was ultimately non-offensive (to a reasonable person that is).

The comment was deliberate, not misguided. It was used to offend, as he knew that it would get a reaction. Your personal bias towards Punk has been evident for ages.

Punk is now obviously in a much better place, as he is no longer there and has to deal small minded people. The Jackson’s and co are in a much happier place as they no longer are being called out for their toxic passive aggressive behaviour and they can go back to being All Friends Wrestling. As for Jack Perry, hopefully he lacerates himself with glass sometime in the future as that would be Kama.

Tony Khan needs to be a boss rather than trying to be friends with his roster. The EVP’s need to be stripped of their titles, because they too are doing a poor job, where they are using the “Executive” powers for personal gain. The place hasn’t been the same since Cody left.

I normally rate your contributions but my word this is a melt. The Bucks are absolute boogeymen to you.

He has been must watch in most feuds segments.

In ring work has been OK clearly showing age.

Top merch seller in the business (Young Bucks not even close)

Has improved ratings when he has segments.

I wonder if Tony made him sign a NDA?

Tony Khan is the real issue in AEW, as he is not leading. He is allowing others in his company to do what they want. Regal left earlier this year, where he also highlighted the same issues as Punk. It seems to be a recurring theme.

Punk was always way to sensitive putting him with the Elite was always going to blow up.

I still think Punk wants what's best for business where the Elite (Kenny I'm warming too) has always wanted what's best for them.

Tony has to be blamed for most of this, has always let the wrestlers run the business for someone who has followed the industry since a young kid surely he knows this doesn't work.

Then I'm sure you can agree that sacking Punk is a step in the right direction?

I agree TK has been too soft on major issues. He should have cut ties after All Out and I stated when Punk's return was announced that I won't have any sympathy if and when it goes balls up.

Here's hoping it is a lesson learned.

Watch the ratings drop, as the Elite and friends take over.

Incidentally It was the Elite that burst through Punk’s locker room last year, so maybe not only Punk should have been fired then, but the Elite as well, and Hangman Page for starting it all.

Tony Khan built a pro-wrestling company that has two major prime time wrestling shows on US cable (plus Rampage), international distribution, successful PPV and merchandise models and just hosted a show with over 90,000 fans (81,000+ paid). And he’s achieved all that inside five years.

Punk is paranoid, controlling, hypersensitive and fragile (mentally and physically). Look at how many people he has had run-ins with in AEW. It’s self-evident from the number of people who were banned from even attending Collision events. Pro-wrestling promoters obviously have to contend with a lot of egos, but when one person is the common denominator in countless confrontations (some of which became physical), the source of the problem should be apparent. Blaming anyone other than Punk for Punk’s behaviour is a cop out.

The only criticism of TK that anyone can sensibly make in this context is that he allowed the wound to fester for too long.

Meanwhile, Regal’s grievance seemed to be that not enough wrestlers sounded him out to learn from him or took the opportunity to train with him while he was there. I have no issue with Regal and I don’t think TK does either, but his views are born of an old-school hierarchical locker room mentality (which the business is better off without) and coaching and development wasn’t his role in the first place (unlike NXT).

Edge I reckon would be an ideal replacement for Punk as a top babyface on Collision. If he decides that he wants to keep wrestling.

Would be great get after the Punk departure.

If you have someone of the quality of Regal giving out free advice, you would be foolish not to take it. There is nothing wrong with old school techniques, as over the years it has worked. These new methods where it’s gone into a 180 seems to have more issues and problems. Why reinvent the wheel, when you don’t have to?

I think anyone that gets signed in the future needs to be aware of who's in charge, the philosophy of the company and how things are run.

Everyone running to the media or playing stuff out on TV (like Punk stupidly did) isn't the answer.

His interview I posted earlier where Tony essentially said people having issues or hating each was good for business.

All good and well if you make something out of it, but everytime something happens they shy away from it.

Hopefully this leads to Tony having more structure backstage and being a stronger leader. Being everyone's friend and hoping things resolve on their own won't go away. He needs to step in and not let shit fester.

Guys like Andrade trying to get fired last year or Malakai Black being burned out isn't what he's going to want to see again either.
