It's basically not the optimal distance for any of the top WFA horses that are nominated.

Yes - 2000m would be the ideal distance for this race - its actually held at the same track in the Spring. Perhaps they should wildcard Bivouac, Classique Legend and Nature Strip too to make it the true Australasian championship
