Voting Starts today. All in on the Northern Queensland champ for me!
Barty returns; Serena no threat? Osaka to exit early?
Timely given Werribee Cup is on Sunday which I think last year was won by an epic Preusker milkshake performanceDid like the mare but sheesh she never went on with it.
This list bringing up great memories of Phar Lap’s (aka Magic Consul) ridiculous run of form out of nowhere
Lol how?Voting starts today. Noms are ok considering the crappy WFA horses we have at the moment. Can potentially be the best race of the Autumn if it holds up
Yes - 2000m would be the ideal distance for this race - its actually held at the same track in the Spring. Perhaps they should wildcard Bivouac, Classique Legend and Nature Strip too to make it the true Australasian championshipIf the noms hold up it looks pretty solid. At an early glance it would be a decent field with
AQ - better 2000
Moth - better 1400
Fierce Impact - best distance but total WFA nonny
Camel - best 2000
Sir D - best 2000/2400 - 1600 LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL will be beaten a furlong
Ole Kirk - has to race older horses
Probabeel - 1600m suits -
Montefilia - has to race older horses
VE - best 2000/2400
Not the ideal distance for all but no race ever is.
Streets of Avalon got a wild card last year I think so anything is possible - still this thing would be a genuine 500/1 shot and would just clog up the fieldWould not be surprised if the most promising horse this Autumn in Regardsmaree wins the Blamey and gets an entry into the race. Nick Ryan has improved this horse lengths and there is still more improvement to come.
He is not good enough to win, benchmark races are completely different to WFA/set weights with penalties races. SOA made the breakthrough but mainly because the WFA ranks are probably the weakest ever. Not many others doWould not be surprised if the most promising horse this Autumn in Regardsmaree wins the Blamey and gets an entry into the race. Nick Ryan has improved this horse lengths and there is still more improvement to come.
