Did like the mare but sheesh she never went on with it.
This list bringing up great memories of Phar Lap’s (aka Magic Consul) ridiculous run of form out of nowhere

Timely given Werribee Cup is on Sunday which I think last year was won by an epic Preusker milkshake performance

If the noms hold up it looks pretty solid. At an early glance it would be a decent field with

AQ
Moth
Fierce Impact
Camel
Sir D
Ole Kirk
Probabeel
Montefilia
VE

Not the ideal distance for all but no race ever is.

AQ - better 2000
Moth - better 1400
Fierce Impact - best distance but total WFA nonny
Camel - best 2000
Sir D - best 2000/2400 - 1600 LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL will be beaten a furlong
Ole Kirk - has to race older horses
Probabeel - 1600m suits -
Montefilia - has to race older horses
VE - best 2000/2400

Yes - 2000m would be the ideal distance for this race - its actually held at the same track in the Spring. Perhaps they should wildcard Bivouac, Classique Legend and Nature Strip too to make it the true Australasian championship

Would not be surprised if the most promising horse this Autumn in Regardsmaree wins the Blamey and gets an entry into the race. Nick Ryan has improved this horse lengths and there is still more improvement to come.

Streets of Avalon got a wild card last year I think so anything is possible - still this thing would be a genuine 500/1 shot and would just clog up the field

He is not good enough to win, benchmark races are completely different to WFA/set weights with penalties races. SOA made the breakthrough but mainly because the WFA ranks are probably the weakest ever. Not many others do
