He is not good enough to win, benchmark races are completely different to WFA/set weights with penalties races. SOA made the breakthrough but mainly because the WFA ranks are probably the weakest ever. Not many others do

Yeah maybe a lot of horses show promise at lower levels and do not measure up. I know I bit about Regardsmaree to the extent that the trainer Nick Ryan believes he is a group I horse from what he shows him when he rides him trackwork. Just a matter if he improves enough this preparation to get there.

Well the trainer is wrong and is most likely just spruiking s**t to his owners

There are plenty of horses that have inferior records to Regardsmaree in first 14 starts that have won Group 1

This is Streets of Avalon 7th race start 3rd at 100/1 and now has won 3 group 1s. I do not know if he can win a group 1 but I sure know that Nick Ryan knows a lot more than you or me. Why does need to spruik anything when he is winning easily.

i doubt RegardsMaree will get in. he's not close to the top 10 in votes at all and he wont get a wildcard.

Good profile good SPs and I don’t really follow BM east form but 3.25L in BM84 grade would probably get him winning to low group level.

Quick look at times he’s still 3L short overall and 3L short late on the clock vs st of avalon. So not there yet on what he’s doing but like that 3yo with Nowra form who won on weekend by same stallion wouldn’t surprise to keep taking steps.

Bit early to expose at top but one to watch, I wouldn’t be comparing to any horses because there’s plenty of similar horses that just reach there level at a certain point in time and don’t go on. Some horses like say a capitalist it’s 2yo others 7yo like the cleaner. SOA an outlier not the rule.part of the fun I guess is you never know when/if they take those steps. Surely target at this stage would be more a Rupert Clarke in the spring rather than WFA in a fortnight.

Probabeel just wins. Genuine miler who has everything covered comfortably that isnt called Arcadia Queen and no reason to suggest she will reverse the Futurity result just because it's 200m further. AQ will fill the quinella spot but at the Valley where Prob has the tactical speed to settle in front of her i can't see her running down the NZer

I must admit it surprised me somewhat for the vast majority of people to simply assume AQ runs past Probabeel next start. I didn't get that feeling watching the race and unless it was a very poor rating race I'd struggle to come that conclusion even now. It's not as if Probabeel is a inferior horse either those Cox Plate SPs hold in my memory.

You will disagree but I think the camel just about only one that could beat them on merit if he takes a step first up as a true 4yo. The rest hoping for others to go poorly or bias.
