LOL At Gil getting votes :D :D

No different to Grant Hill a few seasons back. Devin will get the coaches vote anyway, so no big deal. I am surprised Rondo isn't in the top ten for East guards though. The Ridnour total is baffling.

I am always amused by those who get up in arms about who starts this game.

coaches usually get it right... except Brandon Roy, and David West were terrible picks last year.
Agree with Roy, but West was putting up 20/9 on the team with the 3rd best record in the league (if memory serves?). I reckon he deserved to be there.

The whole voting system is a joke. Besides the obvious ones (Mac, Yi) how the hell does Sam Dalembert, with his 6/8 averages, get any votes at all? JJ, Jose, B-B-B-Billups and Roy being so low is pathetic....

Same as 'Shard in Seattle's surprise 50-win season a few years back. Guys with better individual numbers missed out.

i doubt Yi can catch KG now.

Melo has overtaken Amare :) looks like CP3 won't overtake TMac.

How is Iverson getting a game thats pathetic.
Same with T-Mac.

So for the West will they have to start Kobe and T-Mac, if the places stay the same/
So no point guard to start that would be weird.

from memory there's been a few times where no legit PG has started. it's not weird. i mean if that's weird how about the west starting 5 in 2007?

G: mcgrady
G: kobe
F: garnett
F: duncan
C: yao

no SF

its purely a popularity contest where no defined positions are really needed.

Why does KG get 3 times the amount of votes as Pierce? They play in the same city so most of the votes would come from the same fan base. You'd think Pierce would have more than him, and certainly not 1/3 as many

This is only me but I believe a lot of people would do the same. I pick 5 positions, not 3 like the NBA want me to.

I pick Lebron so obviously Pierce doesn't get a look in.

its kinda bullshit

  • CP3 should start instead of T-Mac
  • Bosh should start instead of KG
  • Devin Harris or Joe Johnson should start instead of AI
many people agree with this?

i was gonna do an all white team but CBF. this is prob the best side to represent bigfooty in the ASG

Stoudemire and Dirk occupy the F positions. They earnt their spots by providing many posts of enjoyment arguing over who was better.

Monta Ellis just a spot by default for not playing this year after his lie. The other G spot goes to a man who has so much ability and provides so many lols for BF - A Carter.

The pivot spot goes to Chandler. He made a late run with his antics within the past 7 days at Portland. Congratulations.

The starting spot for Yi angers many who still dont understand this is a popularity contest. In years past we have seen injured players who barely played make the lineup (P Hardaway), but it was accepted then. Now that Yi is clocking up votes those same people are scared of "them foreigners taking our jobs" and want the system changed. garnett takes the other possy thanks to his antics this season - need not be discussed

arenas makes it cause really no other eastern guard makes an arse of himself, well no one other than steph!

Curry plays the 5 after making a tremendous debut today.

also for lulz

East's starting line-up most likely

C: Howard
F: Garnett
F: James
G: Wade
G: Iverson

Backup PG: Harris
Backup SG: Johnson, Carter
Backup SF: Pierce, Granger
Backup PF: Bosh, R.Wallace
Backup C: J.O'Neal

1 more spot available dont know whether to choose Jameer Nelson or Calderon or another SG as they took 3 back-up SG's last year.

not sure those guys have done enough to earn a spot tbh.

Not many decent big men in the East, maybe Horford could get a bench spot. Wait a minute what about Yi;)\

Who would you choose instead of JON and Wallace?

that is true, after howard and kg its pretty scarce.

whats the guidelines coaches must take to select the bench mob? is it 3G 3F 1C?

Last year in the East they had one back-up PG (Billups) and 3 back-up SG's (Allen, Hamilton, Johnson)
No back-up centers (unless you rate Rasheed as a center)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_Pistons
Chris Bosh was named to the starting lineup due to a Kevin Garnett injury
Ray Allen was named to the roster in place of Butler (injury).
Rasheed Wallace was named to the roster in place of Kevin Garnett (injury).

On a side note, does anyone think the rookies have their best chance ever to knock off the sophomores?

I can't wait to see the Lopez twins work in tandem.
