On that Total Access show Wilkinson talks extremely well, seems like a great kid.

Wish WC could get him with one of their picks but looks headed to the GC.

Some general comments.

Very happy for Joel Wilkinson. Knew he would have a fantastic combine and was very surprised with how well he did in the endurance events. Did fantastically well and the hard work has payed off. Also expect he will have interviewed very well, said this is my phantom draft posts on Wilkinson but he just seems to genuinely want to do everything he can to get the best out of himself and I am positive he will. I predict he will be one of the standouts of this draft with time. Bookmark it.

The other favourite of mine Kieran Harper also tested wonderfully and was very pleased with some of his results. Performed incredibly well in the jumping tests and also in the sprints did very well. Along with Wilkinson bookmark him as one of the players of this draft. Again possibly not immediately, but with time I have no doubt in my mind he will be a star.

Aaron Young's performance in the kicking testing came as a real surprise and for mine that was the one deficit in his game so fantastic to see it coming along. Certainly will have given his draft ranking a boost.

Josh Caddy should get a fair boost with his outstanding performance in the clean hands test and while I never considered him speedy he also tested better in the speed testing than I had expected which will give his draft ranking a boost.

Andrew Gaff probably tested a little better than I expected and he should be rewarded for it. Will have interviewed well.

Probably a little surprised to not see Pitt, Heppell or Wilson amongst the elite kicks. Lamb did very well with 97% efficiency!

Also interesting to note Tom Lynch 199cm! His development this season has been startling and it will be interesting to see the rate of his development over the next few years. Late bloomer, but an interesting one who might go top 5/6.

Some high profile names confirmed their status, but as you say interesting to see some of the names unsighted. The brief and accidental posting of the SLOWEST OR BOTTOM 10 at the draft camp over 5 metres might bother the boosters of the names revealed!

Let's be honest Andrew Gaff was the standout of the camp. Top 10 in 20m test and blitzed the 3k run. It is bordering on delusional to think he be unwanted in the first half dozen picks. Only about 50% of the guys at the camp attempted the 3k run. Of course some had injuries but the number who sat it out because they were sore or had niggles was bordering on embarrassing. Me thinks more than a handful were just fretting about not doing so well, so good luck to those that had a go even if they didn't run great times.

All that said, I doubt the results make a huge difference to the opinions of those who have watched these boys play over a dozen times. BTW the kicking and handball tests are hopeless! Can't believe ANYONE who matters pays any attention to an unscientific (some kids get crap bounces, some dawdle, some rush) test involving 6 kicks or handpasses.
