Sorry Gil but it seems you have forgotten one key element in all this.
Why wasn't the same rough conduct rule applied to the Lalor incident?
You may not be the boss now but congrats on passing the I hate rfc baton onto your successor.
I thought you were better than this.

Hope we don’t.
Luv too see one of the afls luv child sides get too a GF without one of their stars because of same act.
(Yeah I know Dillion would appeal).
Imagine having one of our stars getting cleared for an incident in a preliminary final of a charge that had seen other players get suspended both before and after. I guess we'll never have to worry about that given the AFL conspiracy to screw Richmond.

Is that another one of your tedious hyper-ventilating-theticals?!?

I thought you were better than this.
Sorry RT but I can't understand how you can justify the afls actions by just accepting their bullshit justification on why Gibney wasn't cited under the same rough rule that applied too Mansells.
Think your the only Tiger on earth that's doesn't see how hypocritical the afl are unless your Gil or Dillion.

Meteoric Rise pretty much summed it up for us.

The only thing I've justified is that they haven't changed the rules regarding using rough conduct to cover actions that while legal can result in a reportable offence.

Like Ginbey I don't believe Mansell should have been suspended for an act that is legal if executed correctly.

That's the crux of the issue.
Afl come out and say we've notified the clubs weeks ago to cover up their incompetence.
When the rough conduct rule was always there.

You mean Cotch?
Have a look where the ball is.🙄
Still made contact with Shiel in a manner that has been suspended both before and after but he never even got cited. Damn that anti Richmond conspiracy theory failed the AFL on that occasion.

As for the arguement have a look where the ball is, people still complain to this day that Dangerfield should have got rubbed out for the hit on Vlastuin, despite him making contact with the ball immediately beforehand

So they notified clubs 3 weeks before the Mansell incident occurred, I guess they must have known that he was going to be the first player to offend after that memo, just so they could keep the anti Richmond conspiracy theory running.

Meteoric Rise pretty much summed it up for us.
So you believe there is a conspiracy against Richmond.

When did the conspiracy actually begin?

Was it when they brought in the 6-6-6 rule in 2019 or was it when they brought in the stand rule in 2021? If it was the 6-6-6 change well that failed because we won 2 straight premierships after that rule was brought in. If it was in 2021 well I'd argue that after 4 years at the top and with a list that was starting to age, we were due to fall away anyway given that was when we started having the retirements of premiership heroes with Astbury & Houli departing, followed by Caddy Lambert & Edwards in 2022, Castagna Riewoldt & Cotchin in 2023, Martin Grimes & Pickett last year. Take that amount of talent out of any side and not replace them with similar rated talent and the team will naturally fall away from the level they were at.

Fact of the matter is that we're not a poor team now because we're umpired differently, we're poor now because the quality of our list simply isn't that good. Back when we had a well coached well assembled list that wasn't impacted by the loss of talent or major injury issues to important players we were able to win games despite the constant losses in the free kick count.

But hey if you and 500,000 others want to believe in the conspiracy theory to help you sleep better at night and deal with the fact that we're not a good team at the moment, then go right ahead who am I to stop you.

FWIW I'll no longer be replying to posts/posting in this thread because it's clear to me that any chance of having a respectful conversation is practically zero unless you're willing to follow the pack and believe that the AFL has it in for the club

Besides the obvious in regards too Cotch if you take your afl hat off fir one minute the afl bias against us started from 2020 onwards.
Now there is no comparison between Cotch & Dangers actions.
One was going in low the other going in high with his forearm cocked.

It would be intriguing to observe the subsequent events when Dangerfield engages in a similar behaviour to Mansell. The three-week period serves as a starting point for similar situations.

Can't wait for someone of his ilk too get 3 weeks.Hahaha

Show us another player suspended before or after Cotchin for making contact with another player contesting a ground ball where they both arrived almost simultaneously at the ball. Two since that spring to mind that did not result in suspensions were David McKay on Hunter Clark & Joel Selwood on Rhyan Mansell, the latter not even cited.

This is leaving aside the fact that there is strong evidence Shiel was not concussed by Cotchin(passed a HIA immediately after, was concussed in a later collision.)

But let’s put both of those telling points aside and assume for one minute the Cotchin case went our way. How many biased decisions would have to be made against Richmond subsequently without any obvious ones going our way before you would think that the Cotchin case no longer means we can rule out unfair bias? How many years of opponents maiming our players without penalty? How many games lost hinging on a never before or since seen umpiring or ARC decision(we are 0-3?) How many complete coincidences like 3 of our players cited for rubbish that was thrown out by the Tribunal from one single match? How many years worst off on the free kick table? How many Free Agent compo rulings that we seem to fall just the wrong side of? How many times the most 50m penalties for non obvious infringements that never seem to get paid our way with the same level of enthusiasm? How many rules need to be made to thwart our competitive advantage over the other clubs & hand an advantage to our main rivals? Why exactly do you think the AFL has significantly loosened the purse strings post Covid everywhere else bar the soft cap?

And how long before you realise that it doesn’t take a massive industry wide conspiracy to cause all of this? Most of it can be heavily influenced by a single position - the footy ops manager, and a small amount of people that person works with daily(who may not even be aware they are being unduly influenced.). Who filled that position during the period in question? Who succeeded them when they were appointed Geelong CEO? Which club has known tentacles in fixturing, auditing, and clearly great contacts in AFL Footy Ops? And which club has none of these things and had its CEO overlooked for AFL CEO despite just about universal acceptance that he was the most suitable candidate?

Wake. Up. And. Smell. The. Sewer. My. Friend. It ****ing stinks.

500000 are right

Every single club board is filled with one-eyed fans convinced the AFL's got it in for them. Same old story: dodgy calls, quotes from journos they hate, and how every AFL hire's a personal attack. And yeah, zero actual proof that'd hold up in a remedial Year 10 debate.

So, if half a million people really believe this, where's the action? Stop whining, start a gofundme, and get a lawyer. Take 'em to court! You've got 500,000 mates apparently. What's the hold up?

Thing is, I bet not one of you will do anything. All talk, no action. And those angry keyboard warriors? They won't chip in a dollar.

Isn’t that funny you should be so familiar with opposition club boards.

But show us another club with a list as long as your arm to quote from the last few years….just one. Start with comparing their free kick count to ours…

Can afford my own.

Pretty good effort to become the biggest dickhead on the interwebs

(Yeah I know Dillion would appeal).

Will never happen. They will call it a football action/not intentional and tell everyone to move on. Everything the AFL/MRO does is selective. Their is no consistency to or structure to what they do. Sorry, there is structure to what they do. It's to get their preferred outcome.

Just watching the Blues/Pies game tonight. One of the Pies players jumped into a Blues player, lifted his elbow to collect him in the head. Commentators are saying he will likely get 2 weeks. I will be surprised if he is cited, and if he is will only get fined.

All spot on but the MRO will have no possible way of avoiding suspending Houston. He may try to say bump rather than elbow, medium impact 1 week.
