In your case it is.
You complain about 'nanny state' but your preferred party has more extreme 'nanny state' policies than the party you berate.
You complain about 'nationalisation' without recognising that 'nationalisation' is the ONLY choice.
You complain about vested interests yet your party is wholly 'owned' by vested interests.
Please provide examples of the Liberal party having more extreme nanny state policies than the labor party.

And your assertion that nationalisation is the only choice is laughable. Every other country in the world seems to get along just fine without nationalising the provision of internet services.

The Labor party is literally controlled and populated by the union movement, yet you say the Liberal party is the one controlled by vested interests?

I am well and truly in the top tax bracket and you don't speak for me.
So you say?
Remember this classic?

Tony Abbott urges women to save their virginity for marriage and reveals mixed feelings about contraception in a new interview.

The new Liberal leader is understood to have suggested men and women should try and adhere to “the rules” when it comes to sex before marriage

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott is standing by his comments that women should try to remain virgins until they are married.

So what?

I define conservative as 'a person who supports any law that favors the status quo (white collar, Christan, heterosexual, male, etc) over other groups'.

It's a fallacy that conservatives favor less legislation or less government interference. They'll support the State telling people who they can marry, and locking up children with no charge and no review at gun point... As long as its gays, brown people, the poor or women getting it in the neck.

Don't listent to their lies anymore. I just poke holes in their bullshit attempts to mask their conservatism in terms like 'libertarianism' as if they're somehow fighting a crusade against tyranny of the state - when they'll support the tyranny of the state in epic proportions.

They're full of shit.
You keep believing this if it helps you sleep better at night.
I laugh at what you class as tyranny. Wait a sec. What do you class as tyranny? Protecting our borders from boat smugglers, not changing the marriage act, giving the poor ample amounts of welfare, etc.

Please provide examples of the Liberal party having more extreme nanny state policies than the labor party.
1. Collecting meta data.
2. Anti terrorism laws.
3. Courts may draw an adverse inference from a defendant remaining silent.
4. Government being responsible for the actions of individuals (such as being responsible for the actions of insulation stallers that are shonks)
5. Banning the burqua

And your assertion that nationalisation is the only choice is laughable. Every other country in the world seems to get along just fine without nationalising the provision of internet services.
1. Why didn't Telstra or Optus or IInet build an NBN?
You must have missed the part where Optus and a few others volunteered to build broadband networks, WHERE THEY COULD MAKE MONEY.
If you understood Economics I could explain to you why 'nationalising' the NBN was the proper thing to do.
ALL telecommunications in this country is 'nationalised'. The simple reason is that the market for telecommunications in this country is a natural monopoly.

The Labor party is literally controlled and populated by the union movement, yet you say the Liberal party is the one controlled by vested interests?
1. You obviously have a very shallow understanding of politics.
2. The union movement advocates for workers rights... To fair pay, to fair conditions, to the benefit of ALL WORKERS.
3. Abbott keeps trumpeting that advocating for workers rights should be outlawed. Howard already tried that and got kicked out on his arse.
4. Well may there be bad apples in the Union movement but you could say that for ANY organisation.

Like Abbott, you keep pointing the finger at Labor. You are ignoring the fact that Abbott is poison.
He always has been. His policies are just a reflection of the shallow individual that he is.
Worse than that, he is surrounded by complete morons Hockey, Bishop, Dutton, Morriscum, Pyne...the list goes on.

Do you even know what Nanny State refers to?

It appears you don't.

Let me guess. You think nanny state only applies when it is your right to personal choice that is unduly infringed.
Have another cigarette out by the back door. Your opprobrium is hilarious.
Yes, that is exactly what it means.

Nanny state
is a term of British origin that conveys a view that a government or its policies are overprotective or interfering unduly with personal choice.

In the spirit of a fair go, I'd thought I'd start this off and praise the Government for the things that I think they have gotten right.

Since being elected I can think of probably 2.

The Productivity Commission (and long overdue) review into the Childcare sector was the first. I can't recall too many people inside and outside of the industry who think this is actually that bad an idea.

The second was the move to make it easier to adopt children locally and internationally. Fair bit of common sense in this one, and it's taken a long time to reach this point - even if going the whole A-List launch route might not have been the best way about it.
Caution is the better part of valour it seems as Tones makes the right call on Ebola:

A HEALTHCARE worker who returned to Sotland from Sierra Leone has been diagnosed with Ebola and is receiving treatment in Glasgow, the Scottish government has confirmed.
Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said it was the first case of Ebola ever diagnosed inside the United Kingdom.
The patient flew to Glasgow via Casablanca and London’s Heathrow Airport, arriving late Sunday, the Scottish government said. The health care worker, who the BBC reports is female, was admitted to a hospital on Monday morning. She is to be transferred to an isolation unit at the Royal Free Hospital in London as soon as possible.
Ms Sturgeon said the patient, who is not being identified, had travelled on an internal British Airways flight from London to Glasgow on Sunday night and that passengers on that flight will be contacted.

Ever noticed how these things happen on the coalition watch ?
Just over a year ago we were talking about making sure kids can get the best education they can and that just because of an accident of birth or otherwise, life shouldn't have to be a shit sandwich. Look at the priorities now.

I dont really blame him for Ebola! Although I suspect he still believes AIDS was Gods revenge. Maybe he thinks Ebola is too:rolleyes:

Fear is a conservative's best friend.
A religious conservative at that. Now lets see,

Fear of God so we need his little helpers in schools, Fear of Terrorists so send the bombers, fear of boats so send the navy, fear of the budget emergency so crucify the poor, fear of the rich so leave MC welfare alone. Fear of the future so revert to 1950's thinking & ignore the environment & indeed, science in general.
