One Term Tone is all for a woman's right to choose. Oh wait, no he is not.
Labor and Liberal share the same policy on abortion. This is an example of the imaginary differences you guys think there are. Abbott personally dislikes abortion but the policy of the Liberal party is exactly the same as Labor's.

You guys must imagine that the ALP are somehow champions of individual rights and freedom. There's not a single policy in which they are more liberal than the Liberals that I can think of. The backbone of the ALP are socially conservative union heavyweights.

"they don't have any better policies" is not the same thing as "all their policies are the same".

The ALP for example gave us the Nicola Roxon war on everything: Alcopops, Cigarettes, Fatty foods etc.

Like I said, can you name any Labor policy that is *more* liberal than the Liberals? You were, after all, the one claiming that the Liberals had "more extreme nanny state policies". So far you have provided zero to back that up.

Zero.

The electronic frontier foundation rated Labor worse than the Liberals on the issues of internet censorship and surveillance prior to the last federal election. As someone who apparently puts a high importance on the freedom of the internet, how can you justify preferencing Labor above the Libs?

You are about as 'Libertarian' as One Term Tone is truthful.
If you believe anything One Term Tone says you would believe anything.

Yeah, I remember that. As someone who curses the alcohol excise daily I can't agree with other higher taxation rates on 'dangerous' food and/or drinks either.

This is about what I thought. Vote Greens/Pirate Party Alliance!! Arrrrrrrgh!

One Term Tone straight out lied 4 times in the one sentence when interviewed on SBS the day before the election.
Why would anyone believe a word that comes from the LNP before an election. It is all outright lies.

It's funny because the only person here quoting moronic political slogans is you.

By the way, are you aware that Tony Abbott is not the only person in the Liberal party, and certainly not the only one who formulates policy? Because it sounds a lot to me like you think Tony Abbott's personal beliefs and the policies of the Liberal Party are the same thing. That is no more true of Abbott than it was of Gillard (who was personally far more to the left than the Labor party as a whole).

Don't be silly. Abbott hasn't got any beliefs. He says whatever he thinks people want to hear. He does whatever he is told by the Business Council. If he didn't he wouldn't be PM.
It has become plain for everyone to see that Abbott is poison, a hypocrite, a liar and deceitful.
Gillard was none of those things.

The impression from the Abbott camp seems to be that the message hasn't been sold. So rather than changing his approach and putting forward sensible, less repugnant policies, he'll simply spend shit loads of tax payer dollars trying to con people.

How convenient no security state activity can come within the slippery definition of nanny state. So anti smoking laws are fundamental outrage to free expression but universal surveillance of Internet traffic is not
- I don't understand people these days
Get with the program, its only a nanny state measure if it is implemented by the ALP or the Greens.

The definition of nanny state just isn't as slippery as you think.

You seem to be using it as a synonym for "bad stuff". It actually has a specific meaning.

You're right, it is moronic.

Nanny State is a term with a fairly unambiguous definition which I linked on the last page. There's not much I can do if some spuds are going to keep being pig-headed about it.

Their stance on the Liberals would be quite different now. 3 signal was also quite generous on the FTTN NBN.

may be not the type of "good women" relationships you are referring to but according to a recent study one particular women is very important and will determine your path in life:

“Men who had ‘warm’ childhood relationships with their mothers took home $87,000 more per year than men whose mothers were uncaring. Men who had poor childhood relationships with their mothers were much more likely to develop dementia when old. Late in their professional lives, the men’s boyhood relationships with their mothers — but not their fathers — were associated with effectiveness at work. On the other hand, warm childhood relations with fathers correlated with lower rates of adult anxiety, greater enjoyment on vacations, and increased ‘life satisfaction’ at age 75 — whereas the warmth of childhood relationships with mothers had no significant bearing on life satisfaction at 75.”

I keep flip flopping on the PPL issue as I don't like middle class welfare but may be it is not so silly.
