Sorry for taking ages, it (maybe) won't happen again.

I need a guard so I'm going with another Celtic - Sam "the shooter" Jones.

My next pick is this guy:

bill-walton1-041010jpg-127ca074ee0206db2.jpg

Career averages:
13.3 points, 10.5 boards, 3.4 assists and 2.2 blocks

But if you take just his Portland years (before foot injuries occurred even more often) then Walton averaged an amazing:
17.1 points, 13.5 boards, 4.4 assists and 2.6 blocks.

1 time NBA MVP, 2 time NBA Champion, 1 time Finals MVP, 1 time 6th man of the year, hilarious broadcaster, etc.

Plus, he comes with a free bench warmer for the rest of my team.

C - Hakeem Olajuwon
PF - Charles Barkley
SF - John Havlicek
SG - George Gervin
PG - Oscar Robertson

With my next pick I select another underrated player in my opinion. This player is often forgotten about because of the greatness of the Boston Celtic Big 3. I select DJ
Dejohnson_300_070222.jpg

Dennis Johnson, a three time NBA champion,a finals MVP and a six time NBA All Defensive selection and a three time NBA All Defensive second team member. This man deserves a lot of credit than he gets. DJ locked down the other teams best guard and would run the offense to perfection. Hitting shots when they were there and dishing it off to the Big 3 when they were open. R.I.P Dennis.

EDIT: This guy is probably one of the most underrated players of all-time. Watching 80s Celtics games makes you realise how valuable and great he was to that team.

Another quality pick nbaman.

Although so far all the picks have been quality, just not in the order I would have thought

Just wondering which picks are most different from the order you'd have.

I understand the premise of this draft is to build a TEAM of all stars.

Picks that overall shocked me are.

Dwight ahead of Moses.
Pippen ahead of Barkley
Wilkins slipping to 32 (subjective bias) Especially one pick after Drexler.
Payton going before Nash. (although understand the defensive reasoning for it)

I thought Thurmond would've gone much higher. And Parish is still un drafted.

This draft is all opinion based. Peoples opinions will obviously differ from mine.

But thank you raffrox for picking the Pistol.

Edit* Screw differing opinions, If Blake Griffin gets chosen I'll riot

I took Dwight Howard because I want defence. Moses Malone is a 3 time MVP. That is great an all. Can score and rebound. But i want someone who can defend. I dont need a 3 time MVP when I already have a 5 time MVP and the greatest scorer of all time in MJ. If it was best available im sure a lot of picks get chosen differently but it's what a team needs.

As for Pippen v Barkley. Straight up and this might be controversial. I think Pippen is a better player, flat out, than Charles Barkley.

my next pick is..........

TimHardaway.Gif

5× NBA All-Star (1991–1993, 1997–1998)
All-NBA First Team (1997)
3× All-NBA Second Team (1992, 1998–1999)
All-NBA Third Team (1993)
NBA All-Rookie First Team (1990)
WAC Player of the Year (1989)
Career NBA statistics
Points 15,173 (17.3 ppg)
Assists 7,095 (8.2 apg)
Steals 1,428 (1.6 spg)

It is pretty subjective because I reckon thats about right for Dominique. A hell of a player but never a winner and only a great on the offensive end. SLAM had Drexler one pick before Nique too.

I'd take Barkley before Pippen. The guy was a freak of nature. No one could do what he could do in his prime at his size. Pippen was the best fit for the greatest player of all time but Barkley was a superstar in his prime.

Heaps had been said about Dwight vs Moses so I'll leave that.

I took Dwight Howard because I want defence.

Of course but in my opinion with the big reach to Dwight to achieve this, if you didnt take Dwight that early you still would have got him had you held off to your next pick (but probably even your next pick after that) and chosen Pippin to play beside Jordan.

So is it my pick then?

Okaaay then. Had a few other things on today.

Chris Webber is my pick: overpaid for sure, but a nice back up forward.
