That list is reflective of how many list spots we have available on the basis we use our maximum allowance of 40 senior players.

More likely we only use two picks (46 & 79) then go to the rookie draft with 5 spots available, 2 of those to be used relisting Brayshaw and Achee

Last year we had 39 senior spots and 5 rookies.

We need to take at least 3 picks in the draft, they can include rookie upgrades.
Therefore we have Watson, pick 46 and pick 91.

If we keep it at that and re-rookie Ah Chee and Brayshaw and fill the balance with rookies, then we will have 38 on the main list and 6 rookies.

It will depend on salary cap and tenure. Taking players in the main draft is slightly more expensive in salary and we would be committed for 2 years.

Taking players in rookie draft is cheaper and we are only committed to 1 year.

I personally hope we take 3 in the main draft plus the Watson upgrade as there will be some decent players late. Not a big point

Looks like we are going to take some speculative picks to fill out our list. Not sure what is the point.
We can either get the 79th and 85th picked players across both drafts or wait till the rookie draft and get the 94th and and 112th best players .

Pretty simple really .

Twoomey's Phantom Draft

WEST COAST
Picks: 46, 79, 84, 87 (likely to use two selections)
Landing Tim Kelly during the trade period means the Eagles' recruiters won't have a busy draft. At pick No.46 West Coast will be hoping a player it rates inside the top 30 slips through. Ben Johnson (pictured below) could be on its radar, with the speedy West Australian defender around this stage of the draft. Johnson is a penetrating kicker with speed (he ran 2.89 seconds over 20 metres at the Draft Combine). If Dylan Williams was available to the Eagles they'd have a good look, while the power of midfielder Josh Honey and defensive qualities of versatile Darcy Cassar could also be considered. Ruckman Nick Bryan might also get a look late if the Eagles want to add to that department. West Coast would have liked to trade up if Jeremy Sharp gets into the 30s, but the Eagles don't have much to give after their Kelly deal.

Josh Honey's profile reads like a pretty decent Jamie Cripps apprentice. :thumbsu:

WA clubs have joined the queue for Nick Robertson , Eagles expected to meet with Robertson today , Adelaide , Collingwood , Sydney , GWS are other clubs interested also . All I know he won't last to pick 91 , pick 46 is too high a pick .
