Tyrone Thorn is a dangerous small forward for Peel. Played significantly deeper in the carnival with Henry given more license to roam higher. In colts, he averages about 2 goals a game and managed a couple of league games for Peel late in the year. Did ok, especially considering the size difference.

I like his skill set and would be a useful late pick. He is sub 65 kgs so will need to be patient with him.
Isn't he Freo NGA?

Gee all the role players fighting over themselves to get to Carlton. Good move too, if you could snag a HFF or second ruck role you’re in a good space when they’re up the top in a few years.

Betts is the companion pony for J.Martin.

Any on-field output from him at this stage of his career is a bonus for Carlton.

This Betts deal is similar to us bringing in Mitchell as a playing coach role. More value off field than on and at least he's playing as a crumbling forward. At 33 it's one of the few roles an older guy can play.

If he stays fit and happy he could still have a blinder.

Will end up as a development coach.

Last year 15 trades had been done by this stage of the period.

In the final two days of trading in 2018, a further 24 trades were completed, including high profile moves of Wingard, Neale, Hogan, Lobb, May, Shiel and Beams.

This year, with two days to go just six trades have been completed - two of those involving the Eagles.

I would say there is a strong case for the player trading period to be reduced to a single five-day Monday to Friday weekday in length.

You have to wonder how Collingwood's salary cap has become so tight so quickly, considering they were a mediocre side up until halfway through 2018.

Some of them have to accept pay cuts if they want any success. Collingwood are big enough to look after them post footy.

Getting Beams back was a bad move in hindsight. He wouldn't have come cheaply, they paid a bit in draft picks and his best days are behind him.

This might also be an adverse side-effect of the rule requiring clubs to spend minimum 95% of their salary cap. When a team isn't going so well some players will be getting more than they're worth, and if there's a sudden turn-around in form those players would expect their contracts to be improved when they re-sign.
