Thats everything i love and hate about collingwood.

The effort was amazing considering our injuries and the fact we were 2 short against the best team in the comp.

But our gameplan was based purely on effort. There was no structure, no skill, no talent up forward and no method. The whole gameplan was just make it up as we go.

Perhaps thats all we could do with not one KPP on the field forward or back. But that's a blight on selection, recruitment and injury management that we find ourselves in such a dire position KPP wise .

But god im proud of that effort. Really wrapped with guys like Scharenberg and Aish who really lifted . Stephenson has a real dip too. Unlike last week where we had nothing to celebrate, at least this week we have some promise.

But we are not going to win too many games with that approach . The players will all be destroyed by r5. Its just a kamikaze approach at the football that kept us in it. Sooner or later we actually need to hit targets and develop a structure. Last week we were too tall, this week too small . Next week we will bring Reid and Cox back so the pendulem swings back.

Just no continuity and thats why we lack direction.

Bah, been cursed ever since 2011 and the Malthouse dummy spit ruining back to back, injuries and poor recruiting has done the rest

I can't be satisfied with an honorable loss!

I won't be satisfied at all that we have so many players out and nearly won.

We kicked the first two goals to start the quarter to lead by 11 points. How on earth do we allow Giants to kick the next 5 and lose by best part of 3 goals?

Sooooooo many opportunities! Soooooo many unforced clangers! Soooooo many times we lacked composure or skill!

I am as frustrated as hell and I'm sick to death of seeing shit like I did today. We are going nowhere and will most likely lose to Carlton next week.

If you disagree with me, who is going to kick all of our goals next week when we've lost another two forwards?

Sad state of affairs for the Pies and it's a sad time for all the die hard supporters.

Moore, Reid, Cox, Grundy, Dunn cant all play in the same side. Today shows you that.

Moore going down hurts us but with practice our forward line could have functioned much better than booting it in aimlessly

Murray excellent. Adds pace we miss

Aish played well i like his game

Pendles not elite? LOL

Grundy dominated the ruck.

Howe and Dunn A+

Bring is some class and polish and we would have won. Looking forward to wells and Elliot comming in.

Scharenberg is classy.
Poise.
Good game.

I’d just play him.
Eg if it does say come down to Langdon and Scharenberg, it’s really simple Scharenberg every time.
And I have no angst about Langdon as some do. I’m just having the Berger boy front of queue.

I just realised something.. after the 2nd qtr we were literally missing our whole entire forward line. Literally.

Wells - Moore - De Goey
Elliott - Cox/Reid - Fasolo

Literally that is possibly our likely starting forward 6 when everyone is fit and NONE OF THEM PLAYED.

Unusual circumstances with them falling like flies.
But a few did go with hard work.
From these ashes you’d now expect McLarty to get his go.
Is there also room for Sier? Perhaps so.

Ps whoever did their homework on Murray, good work. Nice find.

I thought it was an excellent effort. Injuries killed us, especially losing Moore - probably needed Howe forward much earlier. Still full of guts.

A few things: Aish and Scharenberg haters, you were wrong.

Our skills are still seriously questionable but that will improve if we ever get Fasolo, Elliot and wells back.

A guy next to me showed me a photo of Broomhead’s leg after it broke. Looked like a rubber band.

We played out of our skin today. As a Collingwood supporter you cannot be disappointed with the result.
I would hope after this effort we can pencil in 4 points next week and try stable out the start to our season

No choice but to play him and the other kids. We won't know what we have in Scharenberg, Aish, Phillips unless we play them consistently. The two SA boys showed a lot today. A lot more than someone like WHE who appears to be relatively immune from criticism.

gws kicked 15-3 from shots at goal today (2 rushed). 15-3! who the F kicks 15-3.

How many brave losses till we stop giving credit for being close? No other key forward besides Moore? Absolutely questionable coaching.

I'd say selection
Coach is involved but there is more than him

Hard to be critical of the players effort, we simply are not good enough to trouble most sides unless they're having a poor day
